If Bush believes what he is saying, why does he not do his duty as the chief law enforcement officer of the United States?Well, there's Pat's acorn for the year. I'd like to know that too.

What does he mean by "Bushites?" He's referring to the Bush Administration. Shouldn't he just say "Bush Administration?"

"...the Times' response is: We did reflect, Tony, and we decided to publish. An unstated corollary is: And what are you going to do about it?"
Likely correct, and that is what will eventually determine if this Bush Administration is a failure or not.
This White House needs to punish these subversives.
A little shedding of Times blood might appease the masses. You know like me!
The NY Times is a disgrace to this Nation!

Why not use this MSM propensity to print secrets for a disinformation campaign against the Islamic Fascists? For instance, beg the NY Times not to print a long list of senior Al Qaeda officials who are actually "agents of the CIA", or who have "provided valuable intelligence services".
To: Reagan Man
The Bush Administration gave Saddam's Iraq, the Taliban's Afghanistan, Al Quaeda's Falujah, and several other entities a few days or weeks to strut and crow over their supposed "immunity" before they got well and truly slapped down.
Let's wait and see.

Same argument we Conservatives use with the Left, "If 'Bush Lied,' then why isn't anyone on the Left doing something about it besides whining?"
Ergo, if what the NYTimes did was a breach of national security and/or treasonous, why isn't anyone on the Right doing anything about it besides whining?
Are both sides just a bunch of whiners?

If we had the press today back in the 1940's during the Manhattan Project indeed there may have been a very drastic outcome to WW2. The gated city today would be impossible. Clinton Engineer Works was the company. Clinton is a town about 5-7 miles or so up river. Oak Ridge is where the company was located and was the biggest kept secret of WW2 the gated city on the Clinch River :>} Many worked there only a few though knew why.

The 1st amendment, just who do we thank for that? Its only helpful to our enemies.Jackboots should sieze computers and assets of the New York Times and shut them down.
To: Reagan Man
Wish the NY Slimes would shutdown for lack of readership or failure to pay taxes or something.

Is Patsy really this stupid? Or does he think we are?
If you bring the NYTimes up on charges, guess what? You have to have EVIDENCE, and that means TESTIMONY in PUBLIC that will reveal even more about these programs.
Even FDR did not prosecute the Chicago Tribune in 1942 after it revealed the MAGIC program, largely because to do so would have made public still MORE secrets.

Had a discussion today with a couple of colleagues.........
Came up with a few questions................
1. Did anyone not know that the feds were snooping through the banking transactions of Americans? - Not "suspected terrorists" but average Americans? How many of US haven't a clue about the "$10,000" reporting threshold? Even car dealers are compelled to report any cash transaction over $10k.
2. Did anyone not know that the feds have been monitoring telephone, fax, and e-mail correspondence? This has been widely reported since the clinton administration. Seriously, does anyone really believe that their conversations are private?
3. Did anyone really, seriously think that these "stories" were new or news?
I had my own opinions to share, but perhaps the questions themselves were more important? I don't know.
There is one thing I do KNOW, I loose more trust each and every day in our elected representatives and our "objective media" to act in the best interests of ALL Americans.
