The Hell of Gates Shall Not Prevail (Gates, Buffett, and the Culture of Death)

The Hell of Gates Shall Not Prevail

In what seems like a well-scripted one-two punch of the culture of death, the world’s two richest men have dazzled our fawning media and society with their dangerous magic in the past several weeks. The sequential announcement of the pending retirement of Bill Gates from Microsoft and the gift of some $40 billion from Warren Buffet to the Gates’ foundation ought to strike fear in the heart of every unborn baby in the world. This is truly an unprecedented event: the world’s second richest man giving the bulk of his immense fortune to the world’s richest man for the singular purpose of population control. Wow.

We ought not to forget who these two men are. It was Warren Buffett who funded the deadly abortion drug RU-486 and has sent suction machines to the Third World to make sure that the poor would not proliferate in his eugenic vision of a white-dominated world. He has an unfiltered bias toward population control and abortion. Mr. Gates is hardly less of an anti-lifer though his philanthropy tends to be better-disguised. He dedicates millions to Planned Parenthood and their abortion machine. He funds condom-distribution efforts, youth education and “reproductive health” schemes all of which are disguised in compassionate terms as AIDS programs and women’s rights initiatives. Needless to say, chastity is not his main concern. He is still young and has made it clear that his second career will be expending these vast resources in generous anti-life measures; he is a formidable force to reckon with.

There is nothing that fuels the anti-life movement more than money. It exists, perhaps symbolically so, on filthy lucre, and with this one mammoth financial windfall I believe the abortion-promoting elite have pushed the already-imbalanced life vs. death battle beyond the point of no-return. With Buffett’s billions Gates may be, in a strictly worldly sense, unstoppable. The culture of life simply cannot compete with this kind of money.

And this is precisely the point where the pro-life movement has needed to be for a long time: the point where all strictly human solutions are rendered impotent and we have no choice but to turn to an even greater power than the combined fortunes of the world’s two richest men. Simply put, they have money, we have God; which means we live in hope for the definitive solution to this mess and they live in fear of a stock market crash.

While we can never cease our human efforts to labor on behalf of the poorest of the world’s poor, the unborn, neither can we pretend that our best efforts towards a worldly solution to the anti-life movement will be sufficient. Only God can win this fight, presuming our cooperation. He is not impressed by the wealth of men; in fact, He scoffs at it. He is impressed, however, with humility and wants us on our knees every spare moment while we work for the unborn. Prayerful humility reminds us where our strength lies. It is not in money or in our efforts or cleverness. It is in Him.

The prayers of the faithful will eventually undo the culture of death in much the same way that the prayers of the faithful toppled the institutions of Communism. We must always, in all ways and at all times make it our priority to buffet the gates of death with assiduous prayers for deliverance from this present darkness and trust that the hell of Gates shall not prevail.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard about this brute Buffett giving all that money to kill babies.

Buffet was quoted the other day of saying "there are many ways to heaven and this (his donation) is one of them." -- barf.

Please read Luke 16 Mr. Buffet.

This is truly an unprecedented event: the world’s second richest man giving the bulk of his immense fortune to the world’s richest man for the singular purpose of population control.

Singular purpose? From the San Diego Union-Tribune:

"The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, to which Buffett has pledged the bulk of his $44-billion fortune, devotes the vast majority of its funding to combating disease and poverty in developing countries. Less than 1 percent has gone to Planned Parenthood over the years."

It's not just Planned Parenthood.

"Warren Buffett’s money has gone to fund the deadly abortion causing drug RU- 486, the production and distribution of portable suction abortion devices in the developing world, organizations that push abortion on developing countries, and among many other radical organizations Buffett’s foundation gave a grant to the Center for Reproductive Rights, an organization that fought bans on partial-birth abortion"

One of the arguments the Left uses is that having children causes poverty.

45+ million unborn American babies aborted since 1973. That's a lot of innocent blood spilt. All the vaccinations and disease control in the world is not going to bring back one of those innocent ones. America has a lot to answer for and we are.

The article you posted said the money was for the "singular purpose of population control." That's obviously not true.

the world’s second richest man giving the bulk of his immense fortune to the world’s richest man for the singular purpose of population control.

According to your citation to a World Net Daily news article, the Gates Foundation has given a grand total of $33.5 million to Planned Parenthood over the past seven years. That compares to $10.5 billion in grant committments since the Foundation's inception ($1.36 billion in grant payments in 2005 alone).

Most of the grants go towards things like education, libraries, development of a malaria vaccine, etc. The $33.5 million for Planned Parenthood represents less than one-third of one percent of that $10.5 billion.

The Gates Foundation already had an endowment of over $29 billion. If it chose to throw a few million more dollars at Planned Parenthood, it could do so at any time without making a dent in its balance sheet. Buffett's extra $37 billion is totally irrelevant to the miniscule amounts which the Foundation will spend on "population control".

Now some people may not like even that tiny percentage going to Planned Parenthood, but to characterize either Gates' donations or Buffet's donations as being for the "singular purpose of population control" is laughably absurd.

As I mentioned above, it's not just Planned Parenthood. You act like PP is the only people they're donating to in this regard.

PP is the only one I've seen numbers for. Do you have numbers showing how much the Foundation spent for any other kind of "population control"? My guess is that it's less that the total amount for PP, which (if my guess is correct) would still make the total well under one percent.

The Gates Foundation fact sheet gives examples of far greater expenditures ($1 billion to the Gates Millenium Scholars Program, $258 millian for the Malaria Vaccine Initiative, etc.) which have nothing to do with population control. It also mentions $110 million to the Save The Children project which is attempting to reduce infant mortality in developing countries. That alone is probably far more than the Gates Foundation has spent on "population control".

Why are you going out of your way to defend the indefensible? I don't care how much they spend on education or malaria prevention. The money to PP and the other culture-of-death organizations is blood money, and the light needs to be put on them.

You should care about bearing false witness against thy neighbor. I hear it's on somebody's Top Ten list of Things Not To Do.

Odd, I seem to recall that it was Ronald Reagan raising the stakes of the arms race beyond what their ramshackle economy could bear.

LOL! Saying Buffett donated money to PP is "bearing false witness?"

If you think it was just Ronald Reagan's actions that brought down the Evil Empire, you're really naive. Between this post and the last, you seem to be doing your best to shoot the messenger.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
-- Ephesians 6:12 & 13 NASB

This began in war (Revelation 12:7), and it will end in war (Revelation 19:11-21). So, we ought not be the least surprised at the continual onslaught of the Enemy of all that is good and righteous. His defeat is assured but, in his wrath, he has determined not to go down alone.

"What makes you think you deserve better treatment than Jesus got; are you holier?

Why are you going out of your way to defend the indefensible? I don't care how much they spend on education or malaria prevention.

- I'm a great believer in arguing from the facts. The statement "the world’s second richest man giving the bulk of his immense fortune to the world’s richest man for the singular purpose of population control" was not true. The figures clearly show that.

- I'm not so ready as you are to disdain the good done for babies and children (and adolescents and adults) by billions for vaccination, medication and education.

- I think contraception can be a good thing. A friend who did medical work in Africa noted that many children died when they were in the one to two year old age range. They died because as as soon as there was a new baby, the mother had to spend all her time on the new baby, leaving the toddler in the care of older children, or to fend for themselves. It was no surprise that many died from drowning, injuries or disease. Spacing the children out with contraception could mean that more children survive.

Note that I don't support forced contraception, but the availability is a good thing. Studies show that spacing of pregancies affects the health of the mother and the health of the baby.

This is sad. People for zero population are dangerous. They fancy themselves as Gods and that gives them the right to have power and control over human life including that which is already here. I am not sure they realize the extent of damage they are doing. They are robbing every human being of their self respect and sharing of responsibility through power and control. This is very, very sad.

What kind of dork, who has ALL the money in the world to buy just about anything he wants, sits around in his mansion brooding over how to kill off the lower classes and non-whites in the Third World with Frankenstein depopulation schemes??? What kind of human being is that???
