WINNERS

LOSERS

Also this,

But Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., who formed a group that targeted Cannon for defeat, said the primary nonetheless showed that immigration is a tough election-year issue. "If it takes the president's participation in a safe Republican district to get elected, he's got a lot of work cut out for him," Tancredo said.

IOW, tancredo is so dizzy, yes so dizzy trying to spin his humiliating defeat.

"And House leaders said Cannon's win adds no momentum in the House to Bush's immigration policy. "The vast majority of our conference believes that strengthening our border, securing it and enforcing our laws are critical steps in the process of cleaning up the problem that we have," Boehner said."

Pence, Snow and Bush are dreaming if they think that Cannon winning was a referendum on compromise.

It was a single district, in a single state (a small one population wise at that) and has absolutely no place to function as a bellweather for the majority.

And House leaders said Cannon's win adds no momentum in the House to Bush's immigration policy.

I would call it a draw in the sense of the "big picture".

I don't want a "comprehensive bill"!!

I want Border Security and I want it now!

Secure the border, then address immigration and those illegals here already!

Just Say No To Amnesty!

Cannon defeated businessman John Jacob 56 percent to 44 percent on Tuesday after Jacob, an opponent of Bush's immigration plan, tried to make the race a referendum on the issue.

That's not a very convincing win by a 5 term incumbent in his own party's primary.

Gee, it wasn't as if there was more than one issue at stake here. It was all illegals right? Nothing to do with Jacob's stupid satan statement or the "hiring illegals" meme that Cannon pushed. Bilbray told the tale on illegals in CA, we will see what happens in Nov to illegal supporters.

The point is not Bilbray or Cannon. The point is that immigration is finally showing up on the threat radars of Joe & Jane Suburbanites.

CIRA is DOA

Spence's "privatized amnesty" is non-starter.

The anti-immigration pendulum has only begun to swing. In another decade, you'll be able to count the number of immigrants - legal or illegal - on the fingers of your two hands.

We know how you feel about Tancredo, despite his excellent voting record, in my opinion, as rated by ACU and other organizations. Are there any Democrats in Congress whose voting records you consider worse than Tom's? If so, name a few. If there are none, no reply needed.

This was your motivation to wanting Cannon to win all along wasn't it Dane, not his 97% ACU rating? No need to answer, we already knew.

Here's a news flash: Bilbray won opposing the Senate scheme so that makes it even doesn't it? That is unless you don't count the recent pro-border wins in Nebraska and Virginia, then we're ahead.

Wasn't the actual referendum the first vote in which Tancredo™ and his minions endorsed Merrill Cook and Cook couldn't even manage to get second place?

Colorado and immigration is a farce....I think the
Presidnt has the right idea...if Repubs. go on and
make the ("Wilson-CalGov.) mistake..the future will
be for Democrats to dominate..with the Black and
Latino vote..what will 2012 look like? The MSM and
cable all will be for the easiest way out..but there
is none... has to be some concessions made..with 12-
15 million families involved, with citizens (brth), and
illegals??? Jake

Yeah, let's bring that Trojan horse with the word "amnesty" painted on it into the city. What could possibly happen?

"illegal immigrants would have to go home briefly to have their backgrounds and job status checked before being allowed re-entry"

What a joke.

McDane, when will you get it through your soft head, that the 90% (if not alot more) of those up for relection didn't side for 'comprehensive' immigration reform? It's obvious why they didn't do so, because they're not morons like you.

It just goes to show you how marginalized they are, and you are. If they have the cahones to ante-up durning their reelection bid then we'd see the lots of them tuck their tails in and act like their for enforcement just like this one did. What's sad is you're trying to spin something that incredibly easy to understand.

--Five time incumbent.
--Blessing of the president and lady (nearly unprecedented)
--Spend twice as much...
--Constesting against a novice

I would say the odds were stacked against John, so it's incredible he even got that percentage...and this post is treating it like a moral victory, when an idiot can understand it's nothing but a scab.

And please no mind-creations about what I believe and who I support, because you usually come out as an %ss.

The real "losers", if they legalize millions of invaders, will be the legal citizens of the United States. Even those who have sold their souls for cheap labor and votes.
