(IsraelNN.com) United States Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice joined the G8 industrialized nations group in calling for restraint by IDF forces that entered Gaza to rescue a soldier who was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on Sunday.
Rice added that diplomatic officials continue to work toward obtaining the release of 19-year-old Corporal Gilad Shalit, who was taken hostage during the raid on an IDF outpost near the Kerem Shalom border crossing. Two soldiers were killed and four others wounded in the attack.
Shalit’s whereabouts are unknown and his captors refuse to return him.

Condi said "use restraint," which Israel already is doing, she didn't say "cease and desist."
I think she means that firing tank shells or rockets without good distinction, could accidentally kill a stray dog or cat in the area...you know...something of value.

She's the secretary of state. That means she's our head diplomat and she's speaking diplomatically. Sheesh...get a clue people.
As Secretary of State, she's required to say it. It doesn't mean we will punish them if they can't show restraint.

Rice is only saying what Israel has always shown.
Instead of "Show Restraint" she could say "Show Further Restraint".

I agree. We are Israel's best friend. (Actually the only one left.) And she is putting on a face for the media and the world. We look better that way. Behind the doors, are policies of support.
How did we not show restraint?
And that should be Israel's answer: "Clearly we ARE showing restraint, because Gaza still exists. After a fashion."
