I agree. We are Israel's best friend. (Actually the only one left.) And she is putting on a face for the media and the world. We look better that way. Behind the doors, are policies of support.
Lets suppose that you are right, and I do not believe you are, that it is all for show.
I submit that it is such weasel words that has perpetuated this conflict.
Once there was the issue of the Soviet Union coming to the side of the Arabs and therefore the US had to thread gently.
But today, what would occur if the US made it openly clear to the International community that Israel has our blessing to do whatever it must do to fight this scourge? What would occur if the Arabs understood that all hell could break lose on them, without the International community coming to their rescue, if they piss off Israel to the breaking point.
I submit, it may take some time, but the conflict would slowly resolve itself- one way or another.
