I can't imagine how you could possibly leave a baby in the car all day...so sad
To: charming_harmonica
Neither can I, that is ridiculous and sad.
I swear people like that must be drunk or drugged.

Let's put the mother in a mini van all day and forget about it....

Kreun, who has been in the child care business for years, said near-tragedies happen all too often. "I know people who have gotten to work and realized they forgot to drop off their kids and had to go back."
She must have a clientele of complete morons. Sad.

If you can remember to put the kid in the van it sort of assumes that you would remember to go to the damn day care.

You need a license to drive a car.
You need a license to catch a fish.
But any a-hole can be a parent.

I am not a father (hope to be someday), but isn't your baby kinda the center of your universe. How could you forget such a thing?
To: charming_harmonica
This is becoming ridiculously frequent. I predict automakers will have to get together with infant car seat makers to come up with some kind of alarm system.

This is one of many reasons that moms should stay home at least until the kids are old enough to go to school (if at all possible).

Especially if it's something you do every week day, or on any regular basis.

When our first was in daycare, we'd get a call if a dropoff was not made and was expected (which happened a few times because of vacation or appointments). I guess that's what the $250/week was for.
Luckily, our daycare days are over.

You'd think while driving that she would look in her rear view mirror and see the baby? My kiddo is usually demanding a little attention in the car!

You'd be amazed at the number of people who have no recollection how they got to work in the AM.
Get up, eat, dress, drive to work by same route, half-way wake up about noon.

This same thing happened in Lubbock last year, the lady got off with no charges pressed against her. I suppose she will live with such tragic event the rest of her life, but the poor child had no choice.

Sleep deprivation, probably. Gospel truth. I have been an absolute zombie at times when mine were smallest. It's a wonder ours have made it through those days.

When my child was small and I worked, it was like my car had auto-pilot on it. On days when I didn't need to drop her off at the babysitters my car would still head there. Then I would realize she wasn't with me and go on to work.
I don't believe this type of story. I don't know how anyone can forget a baby/child is with them. They just require too dam much attn.
