Troops Home Fast Wednesday, June 28th, 2006
Dear Friends,
GSFP and Code Pink are sponsoring a hunger strike for peace which begins July 04, called Troops Home Fast Some of us like Dick Gregory and Diane Wilson will be fasting until the troops come home from Iraq, and some, like me, will be fasting for a specified time. My fast will begin on 7/04 and end on the last day of Camp Casey: 09/02.
We are announcing the fast from Washington, DC on 07/04 and having our last supper on 07/03 in Lafayette Park.
If you can join us in DC on the 3rd and 4th, or fast in solidarity with us on that day, or any other time, please let me know.
Also, Jodie Evans is throwing me a birthday party at Bus Boys and poets on the 3rd of July from 9pm to 11pm....our last food will be before midnight that day....please come to my party, if you can!!!
Love and peace soon, Cindy

True. Plus you never know with so-called fasts. Many times people who are fasting still drink fruit juice and other liquids.

I saw her in person down in Crawford
Do you know anybody down there who'd volunteer to just kinda "park" their catering wagon nearby?

Think about it. I'm going to deny myself of all nutrients except water and juices for health reasons ....

I fasted for 14 days once. Nothing but water. After the first three days the main problem was boredom. You don't realize how much time you spend shopping for food, preparing food, cooking food, eating food, thinking about food. You also don't realize how many other acivities (Besides regular meals) involve food: social gatherings, the after work cocktail or beer with peanuts or pretzels; every visit with friends or relatives. I had a LOT of time on my hands and I spent a lot of it waiting for other people to eat.

Auntie, you said re Ms. Sheehan's "fast"...
When the sun sets it's "All You Can Eat at the Local Buffet. And, I agree.
I recall Cesar Chavez's alleged "hunger" strikes. It was amazing just how much weight that human could gain on a "fast".
You can bet on two things...
First, Ms. Sheehan is no paragon of self-discipline. She will eat daily (and will likely overstate any losses of weight.), and
Second, the alleged news media (led by the treasonous NYT) will headline her as a VICTIM, even though any (real or imaginary) calorie restriction on her part would be entirely voluntary.

To: BunnySlippers
LOL. Imagine adding up all the (non-consecutive) hours I've fasted. Now all I have to do is pick a cause to raise awareness for, and I'm all set.
