Rush Limbaugh Under New Investigation

Rush Limbaugh Under New Investigation Sign In to E-Mail This Print Save By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: June 27, 2006 Filed at 11:45 a.m. ET WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Rush Limbaugh could see a deal with prosecutors in a long-running prescription fraud case collapse after authorities found a bottle of Viagra in his bag at Palm Beach International Airport. The prescription was not in his name. Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at the airport after returning from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Customs officials found the Viagra in his luggage but his name was not on the prescription, said Paul Miller, a spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Miller said the alleged violation could be a second-degree misdemeanor. The sheriff's office was investigating and will soon turn the case over to the state attorney's office, which had no immediate comment Tuesday. Under the deal reached last month with prosecutors, Limbaugh was not to be arrested for any infraction for 18 months in exchange for authorities deferring a charge of ''doctor shopping.'' Prosecutors had alleged the conservative talk-show host illegally deceived multiple physicians to receive overlapping painkiller prescriptions. Limbaugh also must submit to random drug tests and continue treatment for his admitted addiction to painkillers. Limbaugh's doctor had prescribed the Viagra, but it was ''labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes,'' Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement. U.S. Customs and Border Protection examined the 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage after his private plane landed at the airport, Miller said. Investigators confiscated the drugs, which treat erectile dysfunction. Limbaugh was released without being charged.

Is VIAGRA a pain killer?

Is it addictive?

His name was not on the bottle, mustn't have been his.

LOL!

While the dictionary definition

http://www.wordwebonline.com/en/CONTROLLEDSUBSTANCE

would seem to include perscription medications, sildenafil citrate does not in fact appear in the DEA schedules of controlled substances.

I stand corrected

I have read of Viagra abuse in clubs when kids combine it with ecstacy, but had never heard of a problem with adults. So I did a search, and there is one.

Posted mere minutes ago:

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Viagra is not considered a controlled substance because "it's not something you can be addicted to," said DEA Investigator Maria Gilbert.

Either that or his pneumatic pressure needs regulating, or maybe its a balance thing, but you know, I just love Rushie. He doesn't deserve any of this.

All of our knights who project conservative power in the political arena are under threat of prosecution, Rove, Libby, Delay, Rush. Definitely a pattern here. And what of Jefferson, caught red handed, and our RINOs cry foul! I could not believe Hastert did what he did. Delay would have been dealing on that one, and Gonzales would be layin pipe all the Way to the expose of the way the Dems sell their souls for money in Africa and China and Mexico etc. while accusing the Pubbies of unfair lobbying practices! Amazing!

Rush yells " fight back!" and he is strip searched every time he puts money in a parking meter, or goes through customs?

Conservative people all across the country have seen ALL of this, and they know, AND are getting ready to vote Anti-Rino in the primaries. Count on it.

If Rush has any back pain, he will handle it by getting "back" at the Liberal Moon Bats who want to take over the country.

Its all just more fuel for his fire.

And this thread is about mental masturbation!

LOL.

The morality of Rush is not the issue. He has the liberty of a citizen of a free nation to be moral or amoral. His morality is not my responsibility.

I know him solely as an effective knight who battles the evil empire of the Moonbat Kingdom

I don't much care which side he butters his bread on, or if he puts viagra in his jam.

Politically motivated prosecution seems to be the only successful dem strategy or plan that they have. Lets all just go to Florida with thousands of empty viagra bottles and place them around the airport in Miami!

\ Maybe Pfizer Corp will sponsor our cause, "RUSHIE USES VIAGRA!"

Wouldn't it be a kick if Rush put their ad. up on his web site?

my daily pill minder of prescription pills I take to work. No, they are not in the bottle. I leave that at home.

To save space and weight in our luggage, we usually place medicine and vitamins in Ziploc bags when we travel, and we've never carried the written prescriptions. (I thought you have to hand over the prescription to the pharmacist, anyway, so how would one have a prescription?) If one wears prescription glasses or contact lenses, does he need to walk around with an unexpired prescription?

On the other hand, if the pills were in a plain container, instead of in a labeled prescription bottle, maybe Customs wouldn't have noticed.

He said he told his Doctor that he was worried about the next ELECTION.

I never knew that Rush's doctor was Japanese...until now.

You're right, political assassination is right!.

The Iraq War is going badly for the Democraps, (too much Good News lately), and I think the President is about to drop the TAX REFORM BOMB!

So, the Democrats will have another losing mid Term.

Senate Super Majority for Republicans, on the WAY!

He's not like some of the other examples (Clinton) who had no other redeeming qualities.

The point here is, though, that Rush spent a good amount of time attacking Clinton's sexual behavior and stating that character counts. He has also been a big proponent of abstinence. It's a little hard to have credibility on those topics while one out screwing around.

Liberals will have every right to accuse him of being a hypocrite on this one, more so than on his drug use.

In fact, liberal writers are already speculating that Rush was in the Dominican Republic seeking out hookers:

If Rush were smart, he'd be working toward finding a fourth Mrs. Limbaugh.
