If the mark of a person at ease with himself is the ability to have a chuckle at his own expense, then Rush Limbaugh is a supremely serene man. In the wake of the incident in which he was detained at the Palm Beach International Airport when it was discovered he had in his luggage a vial of Viagra with a prescription not in his name, you might have imagined that Rush would have begun today's show with an indignant denial of wrongdoing. He might have explained in tedious detail that in fact the prescription had, with personal privacy in mind, been written in his doctor's name.
But no. Rush opened by poking gentle fun at the situation, and even, in the process, at himself:
"I want to know how Bob Dole's luggage was substituted for mine."
And then: "I had told my doctor that I was concerned about the next election, not, er . . ."
Concluded Rush, undefensively: "It is what it is."
maybe he's a prepared bachelor eh?
---
I can't recall, was Rush a boy scout in his youth?
That happens in retirement communities...
That would be true if the affair wasn't publicized.
You wouldn't even know about it if the drive-by media and nasty liberal political operatives weren't obsessed with everything about his private life.
True. The incident should not have been made public.
There is always great interest in election day "polling."
Pretty stupid.
or wondering what was the big deal about Russian jewelry (Jewry)
oh, never mind
OMG, the 2000 Florida election lasted something like 34 days!!! OUCH
If a liberal had been stricken with deafness then continued to do a radio show without missing a beat, as well as having severe back pain and then overcome the resulting painkiller addiction, he would be hailed as a hero. We would never hear the end of all the talk about his courage in the face of tragic circumstances. Instead when it's Rush, he gets hounded by the drive-by media, the liberals in Palm Beach, and DUmmies all over the place.
I believe necropsy begins in the corpus cavernosa and spongiosum after that period of time without normal blood flow.
What makes you think the prescription pills weren't his? It says right in the news article that Rush explained to custom agents that his doctor purposely left his name off the prescription for privacy reasons. If there were any doubt about this, they'd have charged Rush with prescription fraud.
Even if publicized, it's still none of your business. djf
When General MacArthur, was governor of Japan, he was considering running for president...the Japanese in their best English, painted a sign that read: We pray for your erection....
I'm taking a wait and see approach to this. Firm election results are what matter.
Bad lily, Rush gets his pick.
How do you figure? He's making jokes about it and setting a terrible example.
Or doing away with "violins" on television. Never mind...
We all needed prompt medical attention after Florida in 2000.
No we didn't. Gore did. Remember his picture on the cover of some lib magazine that had his "Package" airbrushed. There's gotta be a lot of appropriate jokes there. Go for it!
I almost (almost) feel sorry for the Rush-bashers, who have so little to cling to that they regard this as evidence of Rush's "criminality".
Being prepared...
