He wasn't carrying a prescription drug without a prescription. It is by no means clear that any law was broken at all. It is very clear that somebody, either in customs or the sheriff's dept. released private medical information gleaned in the course of an investigation. Pretty sure it's a policy violation, may be a violation of the HIPAA act.

Once again, overzealous partisans in government employ and the drive by media have diminished the privacy and rights of all of us in pursuit of the big kahuna.
