MIAMI, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh's attorney, issued the following statement today in response to several inquiries by the media:
While going through routine Customs inspection of luggage at Palm Beach International Airport upon his return from an international trip, Rush Limbaugh was detained by customs agents after they noticed a non-narcotic prescription drug, which had been prescribed by Mr. Limbaugh's treating physician but labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes. After a brief interview, Mr. Limbaugh was permitted to continue on his journey.
I wonder if they found any condoms?
OK - if nothing was illegal someone should be FIRED for making all this information public.
I hope Rush has fun with this today and exposes (yet again) the media bias over LEGAL ACTIVITES and how they stoop so low as to gladly give out to the public PRIVATE information, when no illegal activiy took place

Viagra. Does this mean Bob Dole is under arrest too? I mean really, I know Rush reached a deal, but Viagra!?! The only colorable crime here is not having it in a bottle labelled with his name. But Viagra is not a drug of abuse. What if it had been a perscription for an antibiodic? What if the pharmacy had goofed and not put Rush's name on the bottle. What if someone at the pharmacy did it on purpose?
In short, if they are going to split hairs this fine, then there is simply no way Rush, or anyone, can ever avoid being jailed for political reasons.
The real bottom line is that Rush is a fool if he remains living in Palm Beach County. For your own good, move Rush.

Rush has more money than God. I don't know why he doesn't charter a private plane when he travels and avoid all the usual customs inspection hassle pawing through luggage.

I like Rush, but he's an idiot for getting caught with a possible illegal prescription. He knew he was under scrutiny (fairly or unfairly) and should have known better. He could have easily had the precription in his name. With all his money what was he afraid of? Now he'll be the hot topic on Leno or Letterman.
They'll have a field day with Viagara jokes.

It WAS a private plane and it is still subject to inspection by the Department of Homeland Security's Bureau of Customs and Border Protection.
ALL flights entering the US are subject to search and seizure. Since Rush is currently under adjudication for a drug related offense, his name is on a list of persons with drug offenses, making him more likely to be searched.
His adjudicated settlement states that ANY drug related offense of any type could potentially revoke his pre-plea agreement.
It was Bush administration bureaucrats from Homeland Security who turned Rush over to local law enforcement authorities; making it more likely that his detainment would become public knowledge.

In my opinion, how the word got from a Customs official asking questions to a representative of a national news agency is, and should be the story.
Yes, that would be interesting to know and if it it revealed that is what happened, then the officer should be fired.
Another interesting thing most folks missed, is who did the inspection. Some articles state it was done by ICE and some state it was done by CBP. Those are two different agencies with different missions and policies.
