Murtha says U.S. poses top threat to world peace

MIAMI American presence in Iraq is more dangerous to world peace than nuclear threats from North Korea or Iran, Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., said to an audience of more than 200 in North Miami Saturday afternoon. Murtha was the guest speaker at a town hall meeting organized by Rep. Kendrick B. Meek, D-Miami, at Florida International University's Biscayne Bay Campus. Meek's mother, former Rep. Carrie Meek, D-Miami, was also on the panel.
War veterans, local mayors, university students and faculty were in the Mary Ann Wolfe Theatre to listen to the three panelists discuss the war in Iraq for an hour.
A former Marine and a prominent critic of the Bush administration's policies in Iraq, Murtha reiterated his views that the war cannot be won militarily and needs political solutions. He said the more than 100,000 troops in Iraq should be pulled out immediately, and deployed to peripheral countries like Kuwait.
"We do not want permanent bases in Iraq," Murtha told the audience. "We want as many Americans out of there as possible."
Murtha also has publicly said that the shooting of 24 Iraqis in November at Haditha, a city in the Anbar province of western Iraq that has been plagued by insurgents, was wrongfully covered up. The killings, which sparked an investigation into the deadly encounter and another into whether they were the subject of a cover-up, could undermine U.S. efforts in Iraq more than the prison abuse scandal at Abu Ghraib in 2004, Murtha said.
"(The United States) became the target when Abu Ghraib came along," Murtha said.
He jumped the shark but nobody noticed. So he jumped a bigger shark and nobody cared. So now he jumps Leviathan, and nobody ever came away from that intact.
"I think I blew a casket in my depends this morning, ah what the hell, I'm only meeting with the "swimmer" later ,he's used to smelling *hit all around himself anyway"
Casket? I think the word is "GASKET", although the purpose of either is to keep something unpleasant from oozing out.
Besides, Teddy wouldn't notice. He'd just think HIS Depends blew a "casket"....
If you want to see the result of Murtha's handiwork, go to www.innocentmarine.com IMO, this POS, needs to be disgraced just like he has tried to disgrace the Marine Corp. He's despicable and needs to be as dishonored as he's tried to dishonor our brave heroes.

Look carefully at the wire service photos. You'll see Gael Murphy's arm reaching up through his butt to work his jaw.
Ok, it's time for a sanity test for Murtha. He has to be insane. Or is his senility causing him to forget 9-11.
In your guts you know he's nuts!
whose pocket is murtha inside of ?? or the whole dem leadership for that matter ?? or perhaps the mental disorder that Michael Savage speaks of is beginning to show symptoms.
more treason from the party of treason.
The US became a target when the quislings among the MSM, the Loony Left and the "loyal opposition" in Congress turned the errant actions of a few individuals into the equivalent of the Gulag.
Well done, folks!
At least they didn't call him a war hero!
LOL! Love the new tag. Keep it up Sr. Newbie! ;*)
Constipation can be an ugly thing, fer sher.
Yeah, we're a dangerous bunch.
Of course, providing inspiration to our foes and demoralization for those who defend civilization was the goal all along.

From Wikipedia:
Congressman Jack Murtha (D-PA) was [named an unindicted co-conspirator] but not prosecuted because he gave evidence against Murphy and Thompson. The FBI videotaped Murtha as saying, "I'm not interested. I'm sorry... at this point."
"You know, we do business for a while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't," Murtha also said on the tape.[1]
In November 1980, the Justice Department announced that Murtha would not face prosecution for his part in the scandal. In July 1981, the House ethics committee also chose not to file charges against Congressman Murtha, following a mostly party line vote, after which E. Barrett Prettyman, Jr., thet panel's special counsel abruptly resigned in protest.
In 2002, one of the panel members, Rep. Don Bailey (who lost to Murtha in a primary challenge in 1982) released a public letter stating "I was, to be honest, critical about how you misled me about Abscam where you convinced me you had voluntarily told federal agents about the offer of money to you," Bailey wrote Murtha. "I learned later, after I had successfully defeated the ethics charges against you, that you had merely manipulated the system to cooperate with federal agents to avoid prosecution," Bailey added.[2] On Jan. 9 2006, Bailey told Cybercast News Service that he now believes Murtha was "pretty damn stupid" during the Abscam sting.
"The idea that somebody is going to trot out $50,000 in cash in front of you and you don't know that is wrong is pretty damn stupid to me," Bailey said. "What bankers or investors run around with $50,000 in cash?"[3]
