Top 10 for Sunday, June 25th, 2006

See disclaimer in previous post - this is a ping list of posts that are worthy of extra study, IMHO.

10th Place - Miss Marple

9th Place - OldFriend

8th Place - MNJohnnie

7th Place - Peach

6th Place - TexasPatriot8

5th Place - rodguy911

4th place - Fishtalk

What a wonderful post!  Truly one of the best posts I've seen in quite some time.  A "gem."

Third Place - Morgan in Denver

Great posts again this week, including the priceless observation in #57 that the more these shows are dominated by the Democrat "spokesmen" the more they make our points for us, just by being themselves.

Second Place - Alas Babylon!

AB! doesn't usually participate as much in the thread as he did this week, and these highlights of his posts should give you an idea of how on fire he was.  Plus, he coined the phrase "the Jedi Council of FreeRepublic!"  That's a keeper!

First Place - anita

Always insightful and valuable posts, but this week anita added two potentially explosive bits of information.  The first might link Democrat (Kerry) members of Republican Senator Chuck Hagel's staff to the treasonous leaks to the New York Times about the NSA and SWIFT programs.  These leaks are designed to thwart President Bush's attempts to protect the American people and they appear to have been made for purely political purposes.  Will Hagel's ambitions endanger our country, in fact all of human civilization?  This is important, folks.  Also, this weeks "media nuggets" post, which is always one of the Sunday thread highlights, has a very significant tidbit about Matt Cooper, the main accuser of "Scooter" Libby.  It concerns the apparent collapse of his credibility, which not only appears to have lead to the dismissal of any possible charges against Karl Rove but should also lead to the dismissal of charges against Libby.  This is an important week for anita, FR and the Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread.  Remember these posts, folks.  This may be a "Buckhead" moment.

Great job phsstpok, lots of really hard work there.
Thanks you so much for # 5, really could not post too much last Sunday had to work. It's a pleasure to be in such company as fishtalk, morgan, anita and AB, a brilliant crowd for sure.

Congrats to all who participated in yet another stellar thread.

Phsstpok,

First, congratulations to anita. Great Sunday posts!

Phsstpok, thank you for all the work you did on this. It truly is above and beyond what I believe the exercise was all about. And, thank you for third place. I'm not sure I deserve it because of all the great posts this past week, but thank you.

As for your efforts, or who "wins" the week.

I don't look at it as a contest as much as who made the best points related to the topics from the Sunday programs and who provided all of us with information we will be able to use in the future in discussion with friends and foes.

Most people on FR are activists, if not directly, certainly on-line and with the people they know.  Every poster has experiences and insight that others don't have and can be shared to benefit all of us.  As I've told others I've conversed with, there isn't a week that goes by that I don't learn something that serves me well in the future.  Past lurking shows me the people who are active on the Sunday thread are more so. There's no way to mention all the names because I'm sure I would miss someone but I believe one reason many of us lurk or post on the Sunday thread is because we want to contribute and Alas Babylon! has been kind enough and conscientious enough to post it every week.

Choosing a winning post is subjective on the part of the person who is following them.  The winner is not a buddy system or based on anything totally objective. As a result, different readers will come to different conclusions.  It's not that important, and just meant to be in fun for all of us.

My comments are only meant to say Thank You, to you and Rodguy911 as well as MNJohnnie and the others who have been doing the judging and following the thread so closely. And, to support you if anyone questions what is going on or how it's being done.

 Morgan
