"The Court insisted that the damage must be done before the state can act."
That was in relation to a historical document. If you read the record of the Pentagon Papers case, you see that the government had to prove that the publication of this historical document would result in immediate and irrevocable damage to the US. A majority on that Supreme Court didn't agree with the government's argument that it would result in immediate damage. But this case is entirely different - this case is about an ongoing program. I think the government would be justified in prosecuting in this case - all the way up to the Supreme Court - because the situations are so different.
Duvall was on Fox earliier this week talking about it. I think he was on with John Gibson.
He may have Alzheimer's but the rest of us do NOT.
I know this is hard to believe but they now have a new cause. The Miami Seven terrorists who wanted to blow up the Sears Tower, are now being referred to as the Liberty Seven and being portrayed as poor innocent victims of poverty and racism.
Nothing is beyond these loonies but luckily a lot of them are becoming too "mentally challenged" to vote.
Chrissy can just go back to last week when slick willie blamed the hurricane (that never formed after all) as the fault of the Republicans.
I'd love to see Jim DeMint for once instead of that swishy little idiot Lindsey Graham.
Perhaps this is in the back of Peter King's feeble brain when he demands the Slimes be prosecuted.
Time to re-examine Jack Murtha.
The ranking member on the defense appropriations subcommittee has a brother, Robert Murtha, whose lobbying firm represents 10 companies that received more than $20 million from last year's defense spending bill. "Clients of the lobbying firm KSA Consulting -- whose top officials also include former congressional aide Carmen V. Scialabba, who worked for Rep. Murtha as a congressional aide for 27 years -- received a total of $20.8 million from the bill," the L.A. Times reported.
LOL.......your comment about levin/franklin is hilariously on point.
Great post and 30 excellent quotes (I counted).
With your permission I'm saving this to forward to the shows as they have these people on. I'll press them, repeatedly, to ask these people about these quotes, particularly when they say that "the President lied to us" to get us into Iraq.
Good one.
After the hell LIEberman put this country thru when he went along with albore, I am enjoying his time in hell right now.
Exactly - and exactly why I didn't and won't watch either of these horsechit programs. Off to another thread - - -
Agreed.
Besides, how many of the insurgents meet Maliki's requirement that they not have killed Iraqi's?
Had our forces only been engaged in stand up combat with soldiers who met them 'in accordance with the customs and laws of war', this would not have been the mess it was. If anything, this offer would split a nationalist -us army focused resistance group from the mad dog groups that killed only their iraqi opponents (shia's vs. sunni's, sunni's vs. shias).
Lieberman is suffering from whiplash from all the votes and positions he has taken.
The human rights violations that were supposedly going on there were blown way out of perportion compared to what was actually found. A few thousand compared to tens of thousands "reported", and the things the Serbs did to the Muslim Croats and Bosnians, they learned from those same Muslims when they did those things to the Serbs years before, the Serbs were only handing out payback, but as is the case with Kofi Anans Muslim controlled U.N., no one does anything when it's Christians being slaughtered, but let the Christians fight back and kill Muslims, and HEY WAIT!!! Time for the U.S. to put a stop to this.
Like in Rwanda. The U.N. disarms the Christians in the South, leaving the Muslims in the north armed, and then they later slaughter over a million Christians in the South, and the U.N. does NOTHING. Bosnia is that same kind of joke. The U.S. was used by Clinton to be the blind teacher to punnishes the student to hit back at the bully who hit them first. That's what we did in Bosnia.
I love it!
Dems like Levin and Schumer seem adamantly against it....apparently they think it will hurt the Iraqi government's attempt to bring everything together, which means Iraqi failure, which means Dem's success. These duplicitous bastards have constantly harped that Iraqis should be in charge of security, not US. Suddenly, that no longer applies. What gives Dems....can't keep track of your lies. Try honesty and integrity for a friggnn' change
Did you watch any of the love fest between levin and Warner. It was truly stomach turning.
The senators seem to forget they are there to represent their state and not pander to their colleagues.
