MEDIA ASKED NOT TO CALL MIAMI TERROR SUSPECTS 'MUSLIMS' Sect trains 'through the bible,' worships in 'temple,' not mosque
(WASHINGTON, DC, 6/23/06) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on media professionals not to refer to seven terror suspects arrested in Miami as "Muslims."
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR ) said media reports indicate that the suspects are part of a sect called "Seas of David."
When asked by CNN why group members refer to themselves as "soldiers," "Brother Corey" said: "Because we study and we train through the bible, not only physical -- not only physical, but mentally." Group members also worship in a "temple," not in an Islamic mosque.

The group bears some resemblance to the cult of Yahweh ben Yahweh, which operated in the same part of Miami, Liberty City, in the 1980's.
"Given that the reported beliefs of this bizarre group have nothing to do with Islam, we ask members of the media to refrain from calling them 'Muslims,'" said CAIR spokesperson Ahmed Bedier. He thanked U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta for noting that "today's indictment. . .is not against a particular group or a particular faith."
Bedier urged the government to avoid confusing the public by using Arabic terminology in referring to the case. In a briefing today in Miami, government officials did not call the suspects "Muslims," but did refer to allegations of plans for "violent jihad."
At a news conference earlier today in Miami, CAIR called on police departments nationwide to protect mosques and other Islamic institutions from any possible backlash prompted by the mistaken linkage of this case to the American Muslim community.
CAIR, America's largest Muslim civil liberties group, has 32 offices, chapters and affiliates nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

This is almost funny -
FReepers are saying on one hand that CAIR should be more vocal against terrorism, and when they do reject these wannabes with their wierd ideas of religion - the same FReepers will try and toss them back at the Muslims.
I prefer "wannabe Islamokazis".
I'd like to see em in a REAL military boot camp. I know some DI's who could teach these boys some manners.
That could be fine too... or Zarqawi Wannabee's, Dead Men Walking Wannabee's or Muslims Wannabee's.
LOL Christian students don't wear masks over their faces and post armed guards at doors. The group most likely IS Muslim using Christian-speak as a front.
The press loves the muzzies so much that they are actually posting pics of the guys to stress that they are "black." Usually that's a big no-no in PC la la crazy land. When blacks commit crimes, they don't post photos and leave us guesing about ethnic identity. Not here.
Gotta protect the intifada at all costs ya know.
Funny, it didn't take CAIR very long to disassociate themselves with this group.
Islam mixed with a little Caribbean voodoo?
I personally prefer the term "muzzie." Has sort of a British colonial sound, dontcha think?
I'm partial to the scientific term "islamderthal".
If they are not muslims yet... well call them muslim wannabee's, if they are already muslims, well call them just that...

Whatever CAIR wants we must always do the opposite. If ever there was an organization we can call enemy CAIR is it.
Coulter didn't tackle these folks.. when she went after the Jersey Girls, et al.. but these folks deal from the same deck. They use our own values and beliefs about respect and tolerance to silence folks who happen to note that something is definitely wrong with Islam as practiced by a significant and well funded group who are in leadership and power positions around the world.
It could be argued that Islam is evil on its face.. but this truly wrong. But, Islam has specific core teachings and rationalizations that by their nature generate what the rest of the world recognizes as evil. In that Islam reforms and denounces this material as wrong and problematic.. Islam can take its place as a legitimate path to God. For now, it has great pitfalls that result in serious offenses against God and humanity at each turn.
hahaha.. perhaps. It's usually 'white devil' or 'blue-eyed devil.'
I prefer Mr. White Devil.
The fact that they told the locals they had given their lives to allah and swore allegiance to someone they believed to be Al Qeada, tells me all I need to know to call them islamderthals.
