In the Australian House of Representatives last month, opposition member Julia Gillard interrupted a speech by the minister of health thusly: "I move that that sniveling grub over there be not further heard."
For that, the good woman was ordered removed from the House, if only for a day. She might have escaped that little time-out if she had responded to the speaker's demand for an apology with something other than "If I have offended grubs, I withdraw unconditionally."
God, I love Australia. Where else do you have a shadow health minister with such, er, starch? Of course I'm prejudiced, having married an Australian, but how not to like a country, in this age of sniveling grubs worldwide, whose treasurer suggests to any person who "wants to live under sharia law" to try Saudi Arabia and Iran, "but not Australia." He was elaborating on an earlier suggestion that "people who . . . don't want to live by Australian values and understand them, well then they can basically clear off." Contrast this with Canada, historically and culturally Australia's commonwealth twin, where last year Ontario actually gave serious consideration to allowing its Muslims to live under sharia.
Such things don't happen in Australia. This is a place where, when the remains of a fallen soldier are accidentally switched with those of a Bosnian, the enraged widow picks up the phone late at night, calls the prime minister at home in bed and delivers a furious, unedited rant -- which he publicly and graciously accepts as fully deserved. Where Americans today sue, Australians slash and skewer.
For Americans, Australia engenders nostalgia for our own past, which we gauzily remember as infused with John Wayne plain-spokenness and vigor.

It's quite a catch-22 y'all are setting up for us. If we respond to your posts, we're touchy ... and if we don't, then what you say is true.
Not true. Those who make conclusions with little insight and group all citizens of a nation together via blanket statements open themselves up for a knock down.
<< It's quite a Catch-22 Y'All're setting up for us. >>
Hold on to that thought. <];^)~<

You have a great profile page ~ good stuff!
Congratulations!!
Charles does it again!I think we used to be more like The Aussies(Teddy R.,Ronaldus Magnus),but P.C. has all but finished us!That and the ever-present threat by Jessie J.,Al"Sharpie"Sharpton,etc.,etc.,of being branded a RACIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much ... I appreciate it.
Whatever gets you, your purile projections -- and your every-bit-as-gutlessly-gormless gang -- through the night, baby blue.
Such vitriol ... it does make one wonder who truly has an issue here.
If you want to get away from PC do NOT choose NZ!!
Take it from one who lived there for a coupla years.
Also, getting residency/employment is not as easy as just wanting to go there.
If U want more info. Private reply me.
<< They will come back and they will attack again. But, they will try to make it about you and your defective reasoning about Canada. >>
Of course. Hesperophobically envy-motivated, hatred-engined and rage-driven and venom-and-spite-projecting Limey girly-boys [With whom this howling pack have contracted the sodomists' "marriages" they unintelligently unintentionally reveal in every other multi-recipient pinged post] and Limey-bred-bastard girly-boys like them have been conducting themselves in that manner here on FR since 1997, when I first began participating. And before that they were doing so on every other somewhat Right winged site we set up and/or on which we posted. In those days, though, as Ms Coulter has recently pointed out, they controlled the sites and those of us who "dared" answer back and point out the error of their ways were "banned."
Nowdays, as absolutely bereft of ideas as they ever were, every one of them has ping lists to which he alerts his every similarly-no-balled girly-bubby buddies and his howling degeneracy manifests itself in the kind of hysterical personal attack that not only defines every one of them but also reveals the depth of his mean-spiritedness and the virulency of his underlying anti-Judeo-Christian/Americanism.
<< ... I thought the tv clip on the gay Mounties getting married was actually kind of funny.
My comments went more to the power of symbols. It was my simple contention that two gay Mounties being allowed to marry in dress reds diluted one of the few strong symbols of Canada. Further, the Canadian governments acquiescence in the matter continued Canada's soft international image. I fear I may have said Canada as a nation were a people desperately wanting to appease and be liked by everyone and in my mind that won't do in these dangerous times.
Furthermore, it makes them suspect on the border security file. >>
I have had very strong associations with Canada for more than thirty years and, sadly, as I still derive much of my income from there, still do. And can assure you that the mounties have never been better represented than by its "marrying" degenerates.
The "strong symbols" of Canada's feral police force and every other Canadian police department, their abjectly-politicized and systemically-corrupt ranks comprised of for the most part habitually drunkard and/or epidemically-alcoholic lumpen, have, for decades, all been but one-dimensional illusions, rather than even weak symbols.
Canada, the only (Ostensibly) "western" squalidly-socialistic state without a country and whose "people" define themselves only as "not [Thank God] American," [To which nation, on nothing less than its gummint's UN voting record, Canada is a decidedly unfriendly state] has become but a caricature of a [Doomed] country.
But absolutely not a caricature of what Canada once was. Or even of what it may have become.
Of Oz? .... Maybe?

Speaking of Australia, aren't Nicole & Keith getting married this weekend?
It is my pleasure to acknowledge you for the great job you did in gathering and posting all of this information and graphics!
So we have only two "true" allies hmm?
Fruitcake.
<< "Whatever gets you ... (yawn) ... through the night, baby (girly-boy)." >>
Can't sleep, is it?
Why am I not surprised?
Never having experienced any of it, I can only imagine that all of your envy-driven pent-up hatred and rage must be Hell for you.
And on top of being Canadian, too boot.
[That's "too," not "a," by the way.
Eh?
Sleep tight.
[Like the "men"-mountin' mounties, maybe?]
<< Such vitriol ... >>
Nah.
If you're feeling any mean-spiritedness and/or negativity, grab a mirror to locate its source.
I am, as ever, grinning pretty much ear to ear here. If this wasn't fun I'd quit.
And even if that was not True, there is no way any of us can feel another's emotions.
Only his own.
To that end, every intelligent man aught as often and for as long as it takes to "take," reflect on the phrase: "to 'take' offense."
As often, that is, as is required to accept responsibility for his own emotions and for his own "feelings."
No-one can anger me and/or cause me any "offense" whatsoever and if I am ever angry it is because I have chosen to be so. Further, any attempt to rationalize and/or to justify my anger by holding another man responsible for it would simply be to demonstrate the fundamental dishonesty with which this thread is so well salted.
Imagine me grinning broadly, project that -- and stick with "Catch-22." You were way closer to the mark.

It's kinda funny to see all these disparaging gay Mountie comments coming
from a country where the head of its primary law enforcement agency (the FBI)
was led for several decades by a man (J. Edgar Hoover), who lived with another
man (Clyde Tolson), for more than 40 years, even vacationing together,
and both remained lifelong bachelors.
Richard Nixon, probably got it right when on hearing of Hoover's death,
exclaimed with his customary delicacy, "Jesus Christ! That old c**ksucker!"
It is becoming even more leftist now. They were no friends of Clintons when they were the US presidents either. "Attitudes to the US were pretty much the same when Clinton was in office - "imperialism" military and cultural. Maybe things will be different when Hillary's in office."
