A special train used by Kim Jong-il was spotted heading toward Russia, raising speculation the North Korean leader may be making a rare overseas trip, a South Korean daily reported today. The Chosun Ilbo cited a source as saying witnesses in northeastern North Korea saw one of the heavily armoured, well-equipped trains that Kim uses for his visits overseas passing the northeast border and on a route that would soon take it to Russia.
The paper did not say exactly when the trip may have taken place, but indicated it may have occurred in recent days.

good catch!!
How does one make an overseas trip by rail?
And Russia is over what sea from Korea?
LOL, I was thinking the same thing
By taking the So Ronrey Express?
:-D )))
Years ago I was supposed to be in a "bachelor auction" and the trip I was going to offer was a train ride to Catalina Island. Planned to put a rail car on a barge but was taken ill and dropped out.

Pyongyang Goes Ballistic
Doing what works for the other evil ones.
By Frank J. Gaffney Jr.
At any moment, the North Korean regime of Kim Jong-Il one of the most despotic and dangerous on the planet will demonstrate that it has acquired the means to deliver nuclear weapons and other payloads over very long distances. It is likely that one of the intended targets for such weapons is the United States of America.
At the very least, that is the message the launch of the so-called Taepodong 2 is intended to convey. Pyongyang wants to get our attention and this launch is certain to achieve that purpose.
Two questions occur: First, why would Kim Jong-Il be willing to risk fresh isolation and possible sanctions that have been threatened by the United States and Japan in the wake of a missile launch that will, if past practice is any guide probably transit Japanese airspace and fly a trajectory towards U.S. territory? And second, what does the answer to the previous question mean for American policy toward the so-called Hermit Kingdom?....
Maybe he fears being nuked, lol.
You know, Putin could really earn himself an impressive place in the history books if he took full advantage of this little excursion. Russia, still being on the fringes of respectability, actually could get away with offing this particular visiting "head of state". Who'd give Russia a hard time about it after the fact? Us? No way -- Condi would probably head over there to personally congratulate Putin. China? Yeah, right, they're just itching to do it themselves. Japan? Nope, they already said that "ALL options are on the table". South Korea? Well, they'd have to face a socio-economic crunch like the German reunification, plus they'd have to come up with 10s of 1000s of deprogrammers awfully fast to bring the NK population back in touch with reality, but still, they'd thank Putin. Kofi & Co.? Ah, THAT's who'd give Russia a hard time about it. Like Russia really cares.
Go for it, Vlad!
pay some Russians to blow a bridge just as the train gets to a deep gorge .
i suppose we wouldn't be fixing to test a cruise missle somewhere around there just about now would we?? welp, one can only hope.
