Minister of Defense Amir Peretz said today that the government will not be moved to order military strikes on Gaza because of protests and demonstrations by Israeli citizens who are under threat from the Palestinian Authority. His comments were made during an address at the Caesaria Conference on Israeli domestic and foreign policies.
Peretz was referring to the ongoing protest actions taken by the citizens of Sderot, who have suffered more than 1,000 PA rocket attacks since Israel's August 2005 unilateral withdrawal from Gaza. Residents have held protest vigils, hunger strikes and have closed down their city in recent weeks. Next week, Sderot business and political leaders are going to begin a three-day march to the Knesset in Jerusalem.
Defense Minister Peretz also noted that there is now a majority in the parliament for any policy that will promote dialogue between the PA and Israel and that will work towards the establishment of an Arab state alongside Israel.

The core or depth of the "soul" of a socialist and his priorities is on show here. The Government of Israel (herzlandia) is violating its basic "contract" with its citizens, to protect their very lives. The socialist state prefers the "state's" priorities over its responsibility to the citizenry.

Good night, nurse, get a load of this! Ping!
And there were people who were all fired up about Olmert and his crew "winning?!?!?!?" Memo from Olmert and Peretz to Israeli citizens - we don't give a damn if rockets fall on your homes and kill you or your loved ones, protest all you want, we won't defend you. We're too busy "dialoging" with the Philistines that want to wipe us out, and your protests are throwing a monkey wrench in our plans.
Ben-Gurion, Dayan, Golda, and Begin must be rolling in their graves!

The socialism is contained within the Globablism. Seems clear the world's leaders have a global theme, so no nations, no borders, no individual sovereignty, no individual armies, just global armies. Everything seems to be working to that end - just a question of how it is all broken down, dismantled and replaced with the new and improved version. All previous contracts, constitutions etc null/void, all become global citizen under one rule. Throws folks off a little because at the same time they seem to be working within the old framework they are constructing the new. If it ain't broken, they break it, say they got something new which never comes about then just so happens the global stuff gets reigned in as unlimited solution, and folks been panting so long for a fix they swallow whatever.

unlimited solution = ultimate solution

Olmert and Peretz

Israel needs real leadership, not these two.
