Rice 'stunned’ at making list (Esquire asked men which woman they'd most like to have dinner with)

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who dines with heads of state from around the world, slightly blushed and chuckled aloud when asked about her inclusion in a recent men's magazine poll that asked men which woman they'd invite to dinner. The list to choose from also included Oprah Winfrey, one of the richest women in the world, and Angelina Jolie, voted one of the sexiest.

"I was stunned," Rice told the News & Record in a lighter moment before speaking to more than 11,000 delegates, called messengers, of the Southern Baptist Convention. "I'm not sure I would choose me."

Her boss, President Bush, was third on the list of men, as reported in Esquire's July issue.

Rice's attributes: she is an accomplished pianist, she entered college at age 15, she is an expert on the former Soviet Union, she is the first black, female secretary of state, and she was the Stanford provost.

"I don't know — maybe they want to talk about foreign policy or music or my love for sports," said Rice, whose name has been mentioned as a future NFL commissioner. "Maybe it's the love for sports. That's what I think it probably is."

She must not own a mirror....She's easy on the eyes. I'd be too busy stammering to talk.

Maybe it is because she is the polar opposite of an "airhead."

If Jefferson were alive, I'd choose him. So why wouldn't a man want to have dinner with a Renaissance woman?

I'd rather go out with a hot chick who will give it up before morning.

Our nation's first liberal & Bill Clinton's role model? Better make it a cup of coffee in a public place.

Condi is my first pick. She is intelligent, powerful, pretty (I know we're not supposed to notice), extremely well spoken, and nice. She would be an incredibly interesting person to have dinner with.

Of course she would likely be bored out of her mind, but she would be far too polite to say so.

I'd go with Alexander Hamilton before Jefferson.

All of the above. But, I have to bring my wife along to try to keep the intellectual field level.

I'm a dude, and after Jessica Alba, Hamilton would probably be my second choice of ANY American.

Why should she care? Stunned? If she is that vain and shallow to pay attention or be stunned -- to be anything rather than a range from indifferent to contemptuous of stupid articles in stupid magazines she is not doing her job.

Not singling her out, I don't mean to imply another Secretary of State also wouldn't be so similarly shallow.

There is a huge problem in this country where people believe the MSM is important and that it is real.

As much as I would love to meet her or have dinner with her I am sure I would only speak "blather" to POWER!
