COLUMBUS, OHIO (6/20/06)-The House of Deputies of the 75th General Convention of the Episcopal Church today overwhelmingly refused to even consider a resolution that affirmed Jesus Christ as the "only name by which any person may be saved."

Now they are the Episcopalitarians.
They probably believe that all they have to do to get to Heaven, is just be a good person. These people need prayer in a big way.
Titus 1:10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.....16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [Him], being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Gives credence to Ann Coulter's book GODLESS. We are truly living in the last days.
Here's a little snip from the VirtueOnline story....
"Judy Mayo from the Diocese of Fort Worth also opposed discharge. "My friends, this is a church convention, and this is the very essence of our faith. This may be the most important thing we deal with at this entire convention...Surely we can say together that Jesus Christ is Lord. And if we can't, we have no reason to be here."
But liberals outnumbered Hubbard, Harman, and Mayo by far.
The Rev. McDowell of the Diocese of North Carolina told VirtueOnline after the floor vote, "In the Episcopal Church we don't do up and down votes on Jesus Christ as Lord, and to do so is potentially a mean-spirited approach, to ask questions that aren't meant to be questions."
McDowell explained that how one lives his life is the more important issue than whether one affirms Jesus as Lord. To place a statement of belief over actions is the essence of "self-righteousness," he said. "Actions speak louder than proclamations...What Jesus calls us to do is to live our lives.""
Oh, brother. God is really gonna whack em. I got a prophecy once a number of years ago that said Episcopalians were going to, essentially, become obsolete and fade into the woodwork and their property would be given over to churches that preach the gospel. It will be interesting to see if this is played out. Sounds like it's started.
Do they at least acknowledge that there is something we need to be saved from? I'm guessing not.
Not to dispute the spirit of what you wrote, but The Church Brew Works was a Catholic Church - St. John the Baptist. Been there...
Mr. McDowell, meet your friend satan. It's hot down here but we'll see that you are duly entertained. Lots of your parishioners are enjoying our hot springs. How sad.
Pelagianism is the besetting sin of the Church of England and her children.
But the danger of it used to be held firmly in check because Reason wasn't the only leg to the Anglican theological stool. There was also Scripture and Tradition. The current Episcopalians have sawed those two legs off.
Of course, they brought back the nice vestments, once orthodox clergy were shown the doors.
This reminds me of the story last week where a high school valedictorian's microphone was cut off because she was about to mention God or Jesus.
A radio commentator postulated, what if the speaker had been of another faith such as Muslim? Would they still have cut the mike off? The overwhelming response was no, they would not dare have cut the mike off because of fear of what Muslims would do. It's OK to trample on Christians though, they don't riot or cut your head off, they only pray for you.
These attendees are hell-bent on emasculating the church and turning it into something so perverted and monstrous that decent people will shun it like the plague it has become.
Women priestesses, homosexual male and female bishops. The church is unworthy of God and those who shove through garbage to be passed off as changes of any relevancy commit blasphemy.
Somehow these butchers of faith don't care about God, Jesus, or the Blessed Trinity.
Farewell once-relevant Episcopal Church. Your way to hell has been prepared for you by satan's disciples.
My father spent 20 yrs in the Navy, 20 yrs working at various institutes of higher education (oxymoron?), and then followed his dad into the Priesthood. He was ordained as a Deacon, then a Priest, called to a Church in NC, where he served for yearsin one, then another.
I know in whom I believe.
My dad has the impression that it is a nice tale, with great allegory! I pray for him and the entire church daily! Men have bastardized the story, with all their embellishments, and falsity.
In one "christian" denomination, a man sit on a throne in a foreign city, and tells all other members of his church he is without error, and they accept his tomes. They are constantly assured they are the true church. If God's line is busy, you can always call His mother for to help your absolution. You can also get prayed into heaven with candles, apparently, while you sit somehwere in the middle, when your physical life ends. Membership is required, to get a pass.
Another modern denomination claims they can baptize you for your dead ancestors, and that they will be in paradise with you. They even go so far as to promise you can be a god yourself.
Still another says that only 144,000 will go to heaven, and they must earn their way in. Have they been on your doorstep lately?
Study Job, and see how God can allow you to be tested. Remember, He is still in charge, even when it seems the enemy is gaining an upper hand. Be not deceived!
Give no credence to the earthly church, but keep a vibrant relationship with Him. Gather with your brethren for fellowship. know that in the end, you will be saved, if you believe that Jesus, the Christ, lived, died, and was resurrected.
Hallelujah!
The Episcopalians wont affirm Christ and the Presbyterians are affirming queers. What a world.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had
known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from
henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
So I guess they can get honey with out the bees as well.
I was and I did.

Almost everything you've written (except the part about the "True Church") is false to fact and demonstrably so. The denomination you were raised in is falling prey to the fruits of their heresies and yet you calumnize the Churrch that has remained faithful to God from Pentecost forward. How odd.
Are you interested in reading material that will help you see your calumnies and learn the truth, or are you so certain that truth would simply interefere with your chosen path?
"Feelings" are the hallmark of liberal "thought". It does not seem "fair" that a believer in a supreme being, who has never heard of Jesus Christ but who tries to live up to the highest ethical standards, should be eternally condemned. And was God's covenant with the Jews canceled by Jesus's new covenant with all who believe in Him?
And then, of course, there is Islam, in which lying and killing for the advancement of the "faith" is a good thing. Would they get the same pass as a righteous Hindu?
Either we believe in the Biblical promise of salvation, or we do not. Our duty is to spread the word, that those who accept Him will be saved.
