Baghdad, 20 June (AKI) - Sources in Ramadi in the restive al-Anbar province report that large groups of armed foreign militants are fleeing towards the Syrian border, as US and Iraqi forces tighten their siege on the city. Ramadi, some 100 kilometres west of Baghdad, is a stronghold of the insurgency and there are reports of many residents also fleeing in fear of an assault. Sources told Adnkronos International (AKI) that local tribes were also pursuing foreign terrorists "because of the immense damage they have done to infrastructure and the bad name they have given the insurgency by terror attacks against innocent civilians."
The sources added that "the armed men are heading towards the highlands near the Euphrates in an effort to find a secure refuge," emphasising that "the murder of the head of the Karabila tribe, Osama al-Jadaan, in al-Mansour last month, by al-Qaeda operators, triggered a vendetta by his relatives and followers."

ROTF! Shatner in that pic looks like he ate a really bad burrito.

ST-TWOK is my favorite Trek movie. So many memorable lines. (My tagline is from that flick) In college we'd watch the ST reruns and take turns trying to recite the next line of dialogue before the actor said it.

By the way, where are the B-52s? We should be dropping MOAB's at intervals along these escape routes. Even if we don't hit them, we'll terrify the shit out of them.

I'd rather we kill a lot more than that. Poor choice of words perhaps - But can I assure you I did not mean the term decimate (in terms of the definition to reduce by 10%).
Without question will kill much more then that in this Operation -

Going right back where they came from. If we had George Patton out there, he would run them right through Syria and conquer them too.

It's MOAB time!

""This episode, the sources said, "will make the border area where the tribe of the victim lives an unsafe area for these militants." What's more, "there is close collaboration between the members of this tribe and the US and Iraqi forces regarding the elimination of terrorists and the liberation of the zone from this tragic presence."
Exactly. Some of us have been predicting this mass running for the borders by the al Qaeda serial killers after their Z Pig went to hell.
This is a great place for wrap up/clean up training for the Iraqi Army and Iraq Police forces. Our new boots on ground can get some real live ammo training hunting down these crimianl al Qaeda Serial Killers.
Don't need no stinking B-52s, just a lot of ammo and some assorted medium to heavy fire weapons.

Good afternoon.
I wonder which units get the pleasure of blocking the routes to the border. Fleeing enemy make good targets.

That is a 4,877 mile walk. By the time they get there they will be in no condition to fight the marines. Good Murtha strategy. ;-)

If you really feel that strongly about our military having their hands tied,as 99.99% of us here do, e-mail, fax, write(snail mail) and telephone your congresscritters and any others you can get the addresses for and let them know how you feel. Also get any others in your unit that are as frustrated as you seem to be to do the same, and make a point in your regular daily routine to keep sending them your complaints. Hopefully one of them in DC is going to break loose from the pack and realize the natives are getting restless and demand they throw the rule book away and let the military conduct the war the way successful wars have been fought in the past
If your congresscritter replies with a 'Cut and Run' tactic, or any other cowards excuse, let them hear your wrath.

They don't sound like innocent civilians to me. They have been hiding and aiding the jihadists. JMHO

That must have been all the racket we could hear then. It's been quiet around here lately. The sound of aircraft again was good to hear.

Only downside to this story is that the Jihadi idiots are more afraid of the Iraqi locals than they are of us.
