NEW BRITAIN -- Bridgeport Mayor John Fabrizi today refused to directly address allegations that he used cocaine, instead saying he made poor choices in his personal life that he has since put behind him.
Those allegations are included in a summary of an interview that FBI agents had last summer with accused drug dealer Juan Marrero. Marrero told agents that another Bridgeport politician had told him about a video that shows Fabrizi using cocaine, according to the Connecticut Post, which reviewed the documents.
Fabrizi, who was in New Britain to finalize an agreement on a redevelopment project for Bridgeport, said he knows of no such video.
"I have made some poor personal choices that in retrospect I kick myself for making," he said. "But I've moved beyond that, and I've elected not to make those choices anymore."
Fabrizi said the activity he was referring to was casual and social but refused to say what say what it was or when it happened

There is no mention of his party affiliation. Is it reasonable to presume he's a Democrat?

Yeah. He endorsed Lieberman, too.

In the mighty tradition of his predecessor, Mayor Ganim of Bridgeport! :-)
I think Bridgeport, CT may officially qualify as a third world nation.

"Fabrizi, a Democrat who took over as mayor in 2003 after Joseph Ganim's corruption conviction, said he has no plans to resign. He faces re-election next year.'
Yep--looks like another one.

Fabrizi said the activity he was referring to was casual and social but refused to say what say what it was or when it happened...Wow! That's better than klinton at his best! He'll get reelected by a landslide!

I took the test to become a Waterbury fireman when I graduated high school and I scored in the top twenty on the list.I never got the job because the city scrapped the list when the son of a former mayor wasn't able to pass the test. They ran the test again two years later and this time the mayor's son passed but I didn't score as high since I didn't receive the ten point bonus for being a city resident. This is the way they do things in Waterbury even after an investigation into the hiring practices of the civil service.

I'll see your lived in Connecticut by I was born in Bridgeport and lived there until my family moved to Fairfield.
If they were going to give the world an enema, Bridgeport is where they would put the hose.

In CT it doesn't matter what the party affiliation is. His predecessor was a republican and he's in jail, too.
CT, like Chicago, has the most crooks per capita sitting in public office. I wish I could leave.
