(AgapePress) - The young son of a Massachusetts pro-family activist was physically assaulted by fellow elementary school students on the two-year anniversary of same-sex "marriage" in the state.
On May 17, first-grader Jacob Parker was beaten up by a group of eight to ten kids on the playground at Estabrook Elementary School in Lexington. Just weeks before the assault, his father and mother had filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the school.
Last year, David Parker was arrested and jailed for refusing to leave the school until officials agreed to grant him the right to opt his son out of classroom discussions on homosexuality. The Massachusetts father believes the assault was incited by parents who are upset with his opposition to homosexuality.
"What we're concerned about," Parker says, "is actually the environment being created in the schools, where children, maybe in the normal course of scuffling, will translate the aggression that they may be hearing from parents and administrators to other children."
The pro-family advocate suspects the physical attack on his son may have occurred because parents and school officials are angry over his stand for traditional marriage in Massachusetts and have allowed these feelings to influence kids who attend Estabrook Elementary. Also, he notes, back issues of the "biased" Lexington Minuteman newspaper were placed on a table in the school library for children to read the local coverage of the lawsuit.
Parker feels the Bay State's schools employ a large double standard when it comes to protecting students from bullying and discrimination. If the assault against his son had been perpetrated on a child of homosexual parents, "lessons teaching tolerance and diversity or homosexual behavior normalization would be forced upon the young children," he contends.
"What we have in Massachusetts," the activist points out, "is large sums of money being earmarked for children being bullied from gay households or gay children." However, such funding really "shouldn't be earmarked and directed on that basis," he insists. "It should be for all the children -- not earmarked to protect just one particular segment of society."
Parker says his case against the Lexington schools is fundamentally about freedom of choice for parents to raise their children in the interest of their well being, health, happiness, and development as productive members of society.
While that society allows its citizens the freedom to cross "the God-given and nature-dictated boundaries" of gender, the Massachusetts parent asserts, to do so is a treacherous path to follow and is not the path of freedom he and his wife choose to offer to their four- and six-year-old children.
"We all want what's best for our children," Parker says, "although differences exist in how parents accomplish this goal." The freedom to define what is best for their own families and how to achieve these goals should extend to all parents, he contends, regardless of color, culture, religion, or sexual orientation, and this "parental sovereignty" should not be undermined by school officials or other external authorities.
When he first lied about the arrest, I sensed he had far different values than me. He had many options and took the one that gave him the publicity and subjected his kid to ridicule and embarrassment for a year and a half. That's not my idea of "standing up for them". In this latest, there are only two possibilities. Either Parker's story is true, in which he failed his son miserably in not immediately taking action, or the story is a lie and he is using his son for his own purposes. Neither picture is one of a responsible concerned parent.
LOL.
Common sense always wins over agenda-driven drivel. I learned that a long time ago and it's stood me in good stead all these years.
Much as I oppose the radical gay agenda, if we can't win using facts, then we've lost the battle.
Yes, I've been on the receiving end of your diplomacy and that of your Henchmen.
One must post softly yet carry a big take hike arsenal at the ready...
Especially in the absence of any credible research...
True. Your first priority as a parent should be to protect, then when that is done, you fight. You don't leave your children in harms way while you fight. Me, I would never leave my children is a public school cesspool like that one. If I had to work two jobs to get them in a private school, or move, so be it. Now if it was just me, I would fight till the last drop of blood. But my children don't have the cast iron stomach for battle, or the ultra thick skin.
He didn't "lie" about the arrest. The press and the school board said he did. I wouldn't believe anything coming from Mr. Ash, or that scool board. I have seen his snide "it's legal get over it, we will do as we please and you can't stop us" letters to the editor. As in your face as it gets.
Really? How about this statement?
Said Parker, "certain authorities insist that I agree that my children must be taught that gay relationships and transgender transformation are acceptable and normal. When I firmly, albeit patiently, objected and then finally insisted to be notified when and how my own children were to be exposed to these issues, I was arrested and hauled off to jail."

No dodge, simply an update on what is going on.
Mr. Parker needs no defense from me, he is doing more to stop this agenda in schools than anyone else has done. It's easy to cut and run, not so easy to stay and fight to benefit all the children.
That is the key to all of this!
How is that a lie? That is exactly what happened. He has a right, per MA state law, to opt out, and that right was flatly denied. He patiently, as he said, demanded his rights be respected, they were not. It also bears mentioning this was not the first time he was denied. This was the third or fourth meeting with the school over the issue.
What the school is doing, without notifying parents is against the law. Mr. Parkers request for an opt out IS the law.
You all have a good night, it's getting late for me. And I don't post to argue. Just for information.
You have been effectively contained and IF you start posting outside the conservative box and or lose control and get personal I am sure you will once again get called on it... I suggest you restrain yourself from all homosexual agenda topics as they tend to cause you self-destruction...
Regardless as to this topic you have yet to post anything confirming your theories -persistence yes, effectiveness no... I suggest, and it is just my opinion, that your attempts to villify Mr. Parker have failed miserably AND as well your attempts to disparage me still fail...
Don't be ridiculous! That is a clear deception. You don't have a right to stay in some school office or on school property till they do what you want. If they are wrong, you leave and take whatever legal action is valid. He was arrested for not leaving when asked by the police.
Good night!
:-)
And I see you have not made even a lame attempt at rebutting the HUGE HOLE in this story that I pointed out in #79. And the reason is, you can't. Talk about ineffective?!
Just as Rosa Parks was arrested for civil disobedience -oh the horrrorrrr....
The substance embodied in the pending lawsuit is what you miss (intentioanlly?) by arguing the morally relative and irrelevant over and over again.
So what if he was arrested for standing his ground? Oh thats right -the grand illusion -the deception by the deceptive illusionist!
LOL
Okay if you demand it I will this time review the HUGE HOLE and provide my opinion...
Your argument is just another variation the many made here -some by you --just another variation of why did he not do this or why did he do this because if it had been this I would have done this or would not have done this or most would have done this or that...
It is termed conjecture -and my response is so what? I am the jury and you did not sell me the bill of goods counselor.
I tend to just accept what is evident and has been stated. That David Parker's son was beaten up and that Mr. Parker feels it was related to his opposition to the homosexual agenda. I believe Mr Parker and do not believe his adversaries regardless the web of wacko conspiracy theories that can be woven...
