Sheesh.....Chung was doing a takeoff, a satire, or whatever you want to call it. Think Liberace for the piano, the candlabra, the grinning "pianist". Think Marilyn Monroe for the skin-tight gown, the sexy undulations and the off-key singing.
The problem is that the attempt at satire failed. The words to the song were unfunny and must have been written by the chief grip on the set. Connie is not "sexy", nor does she undulate well. Her voice is just irritating and not trained for pulling off comedic imitations. All in all, it was a bad skit and never should be okay'd by the show producers. But that's MSNBC, folks.
BTW, Connie was not drunk. She's a terrible TV entertainer, but she's not stupid. She was as sober in that skit as I am typing this comment.
Hic.....

You wouldn't. Nobody was watching.
It's like atheists making a novena to their version of St. Jude. They don't believe in anything; so they call on somebody they don't believe in to save them from a fate they don't believe in.
It's the European method, the method advocated by Democrats for America.
It doesn't make sense to the rational mind. Don't try to understand it. Evidently it has some meaning for Leftists, Democrats, the Mainstream Newsmedia, university professors, Hollywood, etc.

Well, it was obviously a parody, not meant to be taken seriously, but what WAS the deal with the nonexistent piano? Was it an audio glitch? Deliberate? Very puzzling...
You can't have a non-professional sing 'naked' like that, with no accompaniment, in a TV studio situation... it will just come out flat and embarrassing and ruin whatever 'joke' you were trying to do. MSNBC is completely clueless. Amateurs!

The stumbles, the weaving, she had to be drunk; she just HAD to be. Not only was this NOT funny, but it was really pretty sad.

Hey, Pookie! This deserves to be somewhere on one of your threads! Drunk Connie Chung Flushes Career, or something like that.
ouch,,, that hurt my ears and eyes,,,, lol.....
To: PJ-Comix
Agreed! I have no idea what it was about (is her show cancelled?) but, I love it when "celebs" finally act outside their characters and do something different and silly. This was that.
And, no, she didn't look drunk, just horribly uncoordinated.

The scariest thing to me is that this unprofessional display is coming from a woman who was almost a permanent major news anchor on CBS and CNN and would therefore determine what America saw every night. [/shudder]

Was she auditioning for Maury's daytime show?
To: LesbianThespianGymnasticMidget
The best part is when she vaults off the piano.
