Good morning, Alas. I see it's time to put on the coffee.
C-Span Sunday
An amazing caller on C-Span, 34 years in the Army, so obviously high ranking, most likely a General, who says, " we've got 2,500 dead in this war, my God folks, we had 3,000 dead on 9-ll.". His son is now in Iraq.
The caller chided Donna Brazile for expecting the government to predict the the outcome of a war, he told her that is impossible, and has been in any war. He reminds Brazille and Clifford May that pre-war intelligence is sometimes good, sometimes bad.
Immigration Call:
"Our borders are screened doors with broken hinges", says Clifford May, after Donna Brazile says Democrats want border security.
Predictions. Brazile predicts Harold Ford, Jr will win First's Tennessee Senate seat, and will be the first Af-Am elected since reconstruction.
May says Donna may be correct about Ford winning. May predicts Santorum will "pull off" his tough re-election bid.
Brazile says she does not think Obama will run for president in 2008.
Good morning AB, and everyone. Congratulations to Rodguy911 and all the winners from last weekend.
Ford just voted against the Iraq resolution in the House. I wonder how that will sit with Tennessee voters. Not well, I'm hoping.
America's #1 enemy Zarquawi is killed, President flies to Iraq to personally congratulate our great soldiers & new Iraqi govt. Networks acknowledging the significance are having Prez's press secretary. Russert, as usual having the anti-war, cut & run, mad Murtha.
Looks like Russert has NO SHAME.
Good morning AB:)
So...who will give the alternate view to Murtha? You mean Russert doesn't think there IS one?
The MSM is staying their own course.
Democrats are struggling to find "one" black Democrat who compares well to Dr. Rice, General Powell, or other black Republicans. Judging from current representation, it's a difficult job to accomplish.
Just as long as they don't have stacks of cash in their freezers.
Mad Murtha appeared on CNN "The Situation Room" - I said over and over in debate, if you listen to any of it, in Beirut President Reagan changed direction, in Somalia President Clinton changed direction, and yet here, with the troops out there every day, suffering from these explosive devices, and being looked at as occupiers 80 percent of the people want us out of there.
Here's what Osama bin Laden said about Clinton's decision to "change direction" in Somalia.
"After leaving Afghanistan, the Muslim fighters headed for Somalia and prepared for a long battle, thinking that the Americans were like the Russians," bin Laden said. "The youth were surprised at the low morale of the American soldiers and realized more than before that the American soldier was a paper tiger and after a few blows ran in defeat. And America forgot all the hoopla and media propaganda ... about being the world leader and the leader of the New World Order, and after a few blows they forgot about this title and left, dragging their corpses and their shameful defeat."
Mad Murtha, Osama bin Laden & MSM on the same page.
You have to admit that is a very difficult task :)
I spent last week in Boston (Kerry/Kennedy/Kook land) at the Microsoft Convention. I was very, very fortunate to meet up with Phsstpok. He is as intelligent and thoughtful in person as he is online. He also has a great personality and was sweet talking all the various software/hardware vendors and getting us lots of free stuff!
I'm back now in Sweet Home Alabama (got in last night) and am going out side to see how badly my garden has gotten without my constant attention. It's been hot and dry here all week. I'm off to water it, then on to church.
Tony Snow is live on C-Span.
Yochi Dreazen is on C-span, but so is Tony Snow. How bout that?
