IIRC, that was John Murphy, not John Murtha.I am pretty sure it was Murtha. He persuaded one of his collegues to support him who later said that if he'd known the truth, he would have gone against him. Pretty ugly.

Latest talking points form the Democrats: "Republicans are politicizing the issue on Iraq" Riiiiiiight. You guys wanted a debate on Iraq and now you've got it. Its a case of being careful what you wish for. I hope this debate rages all the way up the mid-terms.
Podesta on Press the Meet stumbled bady trying to carify the Democrats issue, quite comical.

On the Fox show, I heard Podesta slip in something about Islamic radicals "just getting into power in Somalia" or something along those lines. Like it just happened.
I guess that, years ago, he must have been so busy doing the people's business that he did not have time to see "Blackhawk Down."

Wrong. Murtha was an "unindicted co-conspirator" and was spared from prosecution because he testified againt the others (which means he had to know what they did in order to testify as to what they did).
Larry Pressler is the guy who turned down the sting bribes.

"Rather than dismissing polls out-of-hand, it is best to learn sound methodology so you can criticize them."
Numbers don't lie, people do. At the expense of immodesty and only to make a point, I have a very sound and practiced working knowledge of statistics and their use to tilt an argument. That being said, the political polls that I see from BOTH parties and from many media and political entities are so poorly done as to make the info gleaned from them useless from a purely scientific research point of view.
So much wiggle room exists in each question for interpretation and manipulation as to insult the intelligence of all of us. There are exceptions of course, but most that we see are written to elicit a specific result. Simply a tool of the spinmeisters.
From that standpoint, we can all be honestly sick of polls.

Well...... They DO have Cynthia McKenney.....

Tony is doing a good job on CNN, so of COURSE, CNN has a technical difficulty when he is getting ready to make his point. PFUI. They are going to "fix it" and replay it later. My Aunt Fanny, they will fix it! I am going back to Fox.

I really go ballistic when Madelein Albright is interviewed and lies about how "they" did it better than the present administration. (You know, that peace thing and the economy.....etc.)

I am SO MAD about CNN's snafu I will not watch them. I think they are going to cut the portions of the tape that have Tony making his points and merely show his general chit-chat.
What snakes they are on CNN. CNN LIES.

ref #150, this should be one of our former freeper Tony Snow's most important jobs. He must be able to tell the DBM photographers or whatever their capacity is that they cannot be trusted to keep their freaking, immature, traitorous mouths shut, and will therefore not be allowed to be a part of anything of importance. Tony should announce it where they will get bad press and make sure they will never be tempted to put our President's life in Danger again. This would not happen if it were a Conservative Reporter and Clinton, or any other Democrat in that Office, because it is what it is a lack of Maturity, responsibility, and a traitorous undertone.

All I can say is "thank you" for your putting up with it so we can learn what's being said. Yeoman work for little reward.

To: HonestConservative
Your knowledge of statistics does not take into account the fact that the polls are weighted with a significantly larger number of democrats than republicans.
There is no justification for that.

"during the ABSCAM investigation in which Murtha was named as an "unindicted co-conspirator", but was never charged, because he testified against the other defendants. He was eventually cleared by the House Ethics Committee.[1]"
Now granted this is from Wikipedia so it could be putting a good spin on it. Now I know that a John Murphy of NY was indicted.
