Campaign Highlights Inconsistencies Between Record and Rhetoric
WASHINGTON, June 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Team America PAC has launched a radio campaign in Salt Lake City, Utah. The purpose of the campaign is to make Republican Primary voters aware of Representative Chris Cannon's support for illegal alien amnesties and other benefits for illegal aliens even though he represents his record as having been tough on illegal immigration.
On his website, Congressman Cannon claims he's never supported amnesty for illegal aliens and never will. In fact, Cannon has not only supported nine amnesties for illegal aliens, he's actually co-sponsored six amnesties himself. Cannon claims to be tough on illegal immigration yet he's co-sponsored two bills that would reward illegal aliens with in-state tuition. He's voted multiple times against aiding police officers in the apprehension of illegal aliens. Cannon is currently co-sponsoring a bill that protects illegal aliens from prosecution for social security fraud.
Team America' Chairman, Bay Buchanan commented, "Chris Cannon is one of the most pro amnesty congressman in Washington. It is certainly understandable why he would choose to hide his atrocious record on amnesty from his constituents but that in no way justifies the hypocrisy associated with doing so. Utah voters have a right to know if their congressman is deliberately deceiving them, especially on an issue as critical to the nation as illegal immigration."
Team America PAC launched the ad campaign earlier this week in the Salt Lake City market. The radio spots use humor to expose Cannon's claim of being tough on immigration. Throughout the spot the announcer repeatedly asks, "Chris Cannon tough on immigration?" followed by the announcer's description of Chris Cannon's support for an immigration bill that's completely out of synch with most American's views. Over the top crowd laughter then ensues. The radio spot concludes by asking GOP Primary voters to support Cannon's Primary opponent John Jacob "to begin cleaning up the immigration mess Chris Cannon helped make."
WOW no wonder your so scared of Tancredo, if he's now getting support from someone like Cher.(D)
Do you perhaps have a link to your statement, or is this something else you imagined & put into print.
At least Sonny divorced her and got out of hollywood and entered the real world.

According to Utah Congressman Chris Cannon, a shameless flack for the illegal immigrant lobby, those committed to protecting our borders cannot be true Republicans.
During a May 4 Washington, D.C. forum sponsored by the Latino Coalition, Representative Chris Cannon (R-Utah), a congressional point man for the Bush administrations illegal immigrant amnesty proposal, suggested that fellow Republican congressman Tom Tancredo of Colorado "ought to reconsider his membership in the Republican Party," reported the Rocky Mountain News.

Rep. Cannons attitude toward the Bush administration is one of utter servility. His relationship with the "Reconquista Lobby" foundation-funded open borders groups like the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) and La Raza is close kindred to treason.
In March 2003, Cannon helped create the U.S.-Mexico Political Caucus. In a June 6, 2002 speech to a gathering of MALDEF, where he was presented with the groups "Excellence in Leadership Award," Cannon declared: "We love immigrants in Utah
And we dont oftentimes make the distinction between legal and illegal. In fact I think Utah was the first state in the country to legislate the ability to get a drivers license based on the matricula consular [card] and of that I am proud." The "matricula" card referred to by Cannon is an insecure ID card issued by Mexican consulate to Mexican nationals in this country, whether here legally or illegally.

Yes, I've seen YOUR post 111, where YOU bring Cher & Lou into the thread.
Ever think Cher might have been joking/lying when she said 'Lou was her best friend'........as far as I know she still a dem, & many dems don't always speak the truth.
You're the one who turned Cher's remark into "Lou claiming her a 'best friend".......& now you also claim Cher supports Tancredo.(where did she say that ??)
"Per post #131, the first link in WOSG's post, Jim Robinson absolutely nuked the opposing arguments as to why Cannon shouldn't get re-elected. If he's good enough for JimRob, then he's good enough for me."
Jim Robinson's link I recall was to Cannon's own website:
http://chriscannon.house.gov/Features/Immigration/index2.htm
Of course, it represents the positive side of Cannon's actions on immigration and what Cannon wants his constituents to know.
The problem with that is it is not the complete Cannon record on immigration. It's misleading for Rep Cannon *NOT* to mention that he was a co-sponsor with Rep Howard Berman, larry Craig and Ted Kennedy, of AgJOBS.
See:
http://www.fwjustice.org/CalltoAction.htm
"AgJOBS is the nickname for the Agricultural Job Opportunity, Benefits and Security Act. The principal cosponsors include an amazingly diverse group: Senators Larry Craig (R.-Idaho) and Sen. Edward Kennedy (D.-Mass.), and Representatives Howard Berman (D.-Calif.) and Chris Cannon (R.-Utah). The United Farm Workers of America played the leading role in negotiating with major agribusiness groups to resolve years of harsh conflict.
The bill contains two parts. First, it would create an earned legalization program. Applicants could obtain a temporary immigration status by proving that they been employed in U.S. agriculture in the recent past either as a legal guestworker or as an undocumented worker. If the temporary resident then performs a specified amount of agricultural work, during a three to six year period, he or she could convert to lawful permanent resident status and receive a green card."
Second, AgJOBS would revise the existing H-2A agricultural guestworker program, which allows employers to hire foreign citizens on temporary, nonimmigrant work visas. "
This bill is a "compromise" between the open-border 'immigration rights' community on the left and the cheap-labor-lobby agribusiness interests. AgJobs is a key component of what make the current Senate CIRA bill such a bad bill. The Senate bill builds on AgJobs provisions to legalize millions of illegal immigrants into citizens, and creates a whole category of larger legal immigration that, combined would lead to tens of millions in added immigration in the next 20 years (estimates are between 40 and 60 million).
There is no doubt that, with Rep Cannon as a co-sponsor with Berman, Kennedy and Craig, these 4 votes would be for the Senate CIRA bill or something very much like it. Craig was one of the GOP Senators who joined Kennedy in voting for the Senate CIRA bill. If the same vote were held on the House side, Cannon would be a vote for it as well. That would be a disaster.
She didn't claim she was joking. I actually heard the exchange on E!'s "Talk Soup" and she sounded serious.
Why would she lie on C-Span, using your logic, she would also be lying about helmet safety.
Please, who is tancredo's "best friend" on CNN.
I'll give you a hint, tancredo sycophant lou dobbs.
Regardless, your the one who has morphed her statement into that she now supports Tancredo.
using your logic, she would also be lying about helmet safety.
I never said Cher (or anyone) lies all the time, I think her 25K donation, & time verifies where she stands on the helmet issue.
"I actually heard the exchange on E!'s "Talk Soup" and she sounded serious."
ROFLMAO! Now there's a reliable source, a Hollywood gossip show!
And also the person you hate, Chris Cannon, has publicly stated that the Dept. of Education should be dismantled.
Uh they used the C-Span tape, which even the Wash Compost reported on.
So I guess you are saying that C-Span is lying?
If so take it up with Brian Lamb and not me.
Game, set, match.
Whatever, but please leave the martina navartilova quips out of this thread, okay
