N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.
The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

There are lots of options, my point was a nuke was just too messy, unless it's a "tactical battlefield nuke" i have read some about, but how do you deploy it in this situation.

Then again??
LOL to the BB Gun. I'm on Oahu and hubby and I are breaking out the hard hats. Hubby also works at PACOM which is Pacific Command Headquarters.
As he is a satillite up-link specialist with the special units attached to the division headquarters, I imagine he has been up 24/7 for some time now...and will be for a long time.
Nothing to report here. Jimmy Carter solved the problem and brought us lasting world peace after he charmed Kim Il Sung with his sagacity and goodness in 1994. That's why he won the Nobel Peace Prize. Doesn't anybody remember?
The information came from US and South Korean satellite images of activity at the site, the daily said, citing an unnamed government official.
A Japanese daily, the Sankei Shimbun, reported that the missile could be fired as early as Sunday, citing unnamed government officials.
Japan is acutely worried by this, says the BBC's Chris Hogg in Tokyo. The government says any launch would threaten the country's security.
Thank you Diogenesis.
The North Korean military seems a bit perturbed.
Well I guess you guys with contacts ought to wake up FOX and House. Let's let the Senate and the rest of the media sleep though.
Launching a missle across the pole has much less range than launching the same missle toward the east. This is due to the earth's rotation, which is close to a 1000 mph eastward at Korean latitudes. (That is why most sattellite launches are toward the east).
Did you see this?
"A man's got to know his limitations"...Dirty Harry.
I'm not fear-mongering, far from it, but this might be the last step that allows them to launch their "sattilite". A Sub-orbital icbm allows them to "go around the world". That's why sputnik was such a big deal. As to the nk...I wouldn't bet on em accuracy-wise for anything and this is just a test to launch a sattalite, we will return you to your regularly scheduled broadcast...
Did ya have to go and mention him?

2 U.S. troops sought amid abduction report
Baghdad, IRAQ -- In this still from video footage released by the U.S. Army, Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell speaks during a press conference in Baghdad Iraq, Saturday, June 17, 2006. The US military said troops searched Saturday for two soldiers that went missing after an attack that killed one of their comrades at a traffic checkpoint in the so-called 'Triangle of Death' just south of Baghdad. Caldwell said four raids were carried out since the Friday attack and that troops, helicopters and airplanes were taking part in the search. (AP Photo / US Army via APTN)
