N. Koreans Ordered To Raise Their Flag At 2PM, and Listen to Broadcast

N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.

The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

Nothing new here. There are reports that one of their last ones landed in Alaska. I am in Alaska. The chances that a chunk of concrete will damage something important are small, but it is possible it could land on somebody's Toyota and that would probably total the car. Would insurance cover that?

We have a great military. You left out something important though. Prayer. I'm just wondering though, what would you be posting today, if it had fired and wasn't a test but armed. If we missed (it happens) and had made target, what would you be posting right now (assuming FR still up)?

That would be series. Not that there is a nuke involved in this test, which seems to be kind of in the background of thinking.

I'll try again:

So RightWhale, you are flatout stating that it was and is O.K. that Bill Clinton *gave* North Korea those two twin, light water nuclear reactors? And your also stating RightWhale that it's perfectly acceptable to you that the North Koreans have been pulling plutonium from the spent fuel rods of these nuclear reactors that Clinton gave them, is this correct RightWhale?

[and with presuming we went along with your logic RightWhale, then it would be perfectly fine if President Bush or any future President - gives all countries - every country including, let's say, Cuba and Libya - - nuclear reactors - so they can pull plutonium from the spent fuel rods - is this correct RightWhale? Is this your bottom line?]

If N Kor fired a live nuke that would probably do the trick. But, if they had a live nuke onboard they wouldn't be concerned about weather; there would be no point to making scientific measurements when they are about to be reduced to smoking craters. So, it's just a missile test and they actually have no free direction to fire: it has to go over somebody's airspace.

Well, I see the thread is ending. When the after the fact commenters show up to critique the "live" posters, it's time to stick a fork in it. Nothing but opinions and arguments from here on IMO.

Place is hilly enough I don't think it would quite get flattened, but the effect would be stunning.

The US has been near that 3-4%/yr figure for quite some time now. It won't be changing much from what I've seen.

Yes and notice that RightWhale couldn't bring himself to post a yes or no reply to my two paragraphs in #1266.

Five hundred meter airburst might do it- although it's all academic anyway. Ain't gonna happen. Not today from North Korea, anyway.
