N. Koreans Ordered To Raise Their Flag At 2PM, and Listen to Broadcast

N. Korean leadership ordered its citizen to raise their flag and listen to their (government) communique from TV in the evening, according to Sankei Shimbun (of Japan), quoting Japanese government sources.

The paper said it is paying attention this development because it could be related to the launch of Taepodong-2.

I live up here, and yes...it CAN be that bad.

In certain neighborhoods, you DON'T insinuate you are a Christian OR a Conservative.

I'm wondering what the NK Nitwit has in mind....?

I'm partial to precision bullseye shooting...The outdoor range here is 1,000 yards.

Now THAT sounds like fun!

It's one thing to be able to take the eraser off a pencil at 100 yards, but there's nothing like actually making the 800+ shots.

Listen to me. Sounds like I've actually done it before, doesn't it?

Maybe one of these days I'll get a chance to go out west, and make the long ones for real. Till then I guess I'll just have to calculate how great a shot I am ;o)

Bindweed is morning glory.

I HATE bermuda grass, having pulled too much of it out of my garden beds, where it did a number on my roses...

I have MG so bad I actually transferred snails by hand from front yard to back, just in a vain, desperate hope.

What's cool about that is that actual snails are rare here - everything's a slug, rather than Potential Escargot.

I hate slugs!

On that note, I'm going to have to give the sluggish (in all senses of the word) Mr. Kim the brush off...I am starting to fall asleep.

Good night!

Not to mention the stuf we have on the sides of the highways, Scotch Broom, aka Pollen Generators. A lady from Arizona commented to me how pretty they were when in bloom. I informed her that the state DOT considers them a "noxious weed".

I suppose if she wants to take some back to AZ with her, that's her problem.

Good night, and stay well in Idaho.

[Your advice is bookmarked for posterity, BTW]

Glad we all survived the little despot tonight. Maybe we can all get under our desks next week.

That's not even the worst one. I think in his second performance, he's playing piano and singing, and he literally stares into the camera nonstop. We'll see.. he'll be on in another :15 or so.

Call it laziness, or call it "why reinvent the wheel."

I figure I'm reducing excessive photosynthesis, which contributes to overpopulation of air-breathers.

So where is a good place out west to avoid smoke from all the forest fires? I have asthma and can't deal with a lot of smoke. I was once thinking about moving to northern Arizona but I could not stand all that smoke from the forest fires everywhere. I would not consider California (with their gun laws and cost of living). I hate heat and humidity but I don't think I would enjoy extreme cold, either. Freezing weather in winter is fine but I don't think I could deal with three months of 20 degrees below zero. A lack of mosquitos would be nice but not a requirement. Any suggestions? Thanks!

"GOOOdBAAAH MAAH LUVVAH" is the song James Blunt warbles. Good gravy.

Kim Jong-il's North Korea launched a missile today. The test missile went straight up. Then......came straight down.

The test mouse survived.

North Koreans, munching tree bark and watching the 750' high flight, were duly impressed.

Hi IslandJeff, I wonder if you could give me a quick rundown about this thread. I just logged on after being on the road half the day and really don't want to read over a thousand post to figure out what's going on.
Thank You in advance.

The Philippines is one place I've never been too and other than the food I haven't really wanted to go, mainly because of what I've been told about the corruption and terrorist uprisings. As long as my neighbour keeps me supplied with Lumpia and Ginataan I'm quite happy to stay this side of the Pacific.

When Art does finally get his equipment all installed I do believe he's going to find a tremendous difference to the top of the line he had out here in the desert.
