Ann Coulter vs. Michael Moore
Newsmax ^ | 16 June 2006 | Humberto Fontova

Posted on 06/16/2006 5:05:55 PM PDT by ChessExpert

“As he turned to assault the next bunker an NVA machine gun opened up and he was mortally wounded. Captain Sosa-Camejo's valorous action and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army."

From his limousine Michael Moore sneers at this Cuban-American and his Band of Brothers as wimps and crybabies "with a yellow stripe down their backs."

Maybe I'm biased, but nothing – absolutely nothing – Ann Coulter has said about Murtha, Kerry or McClellan strikes me as remotely comparable in vileness, cowardice and rank stupidity as Michael Moore's blanket calumny against some of the bravest men of the 20th century.”

You keep making this claim and speak as though the premise should be automatically accepted......

Not really. The Dems have spiraled into the toilet with gutter-level rhetoric, and as a result have lost election after election. I'm not asking anyone to accept it. Do you think I'm wrong?

I didn't know there were chess matches like that.

I retract my charges.

"The Dems have spiraled into the toilet with gutter-level rhetoric, and as a result have lost election after election."

And of course this has NOTHING to do with some conservatives finally taking them on -- like Coulter does.

I guess you think the Swift Boat Vets hurt Bush's election numbers, too.

You are hilarious. (If one can say that about the blind.)

But it was an easy mistake for Ann to make, as Canadians look just like Americans until they dress to go outside. :)

Very easy mistake. Canada did serve along side us in the Korean War.

To characterize it as a lie is despicable.

Keep playing! Play some games with people rated a little higher (maybe about 100 points); it should open your eyes. Play some games with people rated a little lower (maybe about 100 points), so you can put ideas into practice (and win).

Nope. I thought all the cool, sophisticated people were reading Utne Reader, Rolling Stone, and New Yorker. They were the ones with the neat cartoons, and always on the front row at the bookstore.

You can see why I was a liberal, I'm sure. And what's funny is, I thought I was getting off the beaten path by bypassing People.

You have hit a new low. I supported the Swifties, and still do 100%. They never tossed out "hyperbole" like Ann does, they said what ACTUALLY happened, without embellishments and extrapolations. You know the difference, and for you to scrape the bottom of the barrel like this is frankly shocking and disgraceful.

"Not only did Canada not send troops to Vietnam, Canada provided a safe haven for U.S. military deserters and refused to extradite them to the U.S."

Read up on how the US treated Canadian draft dodgers during the WW2 period. America was determined to stay out of that war initially, and some Canadians came here in order to avoid conscription. Canada repaid the US for our passive hostility to that war, and stuck it to us with their very own version of draft dodger succor during the Viet Nam fiasco.

I am quite tired right now, but a thorough search might help you to be self informed.

Good luck!

You are quoting Alex Beam from the Boston Globe in order to make some point?

Are you on drugs?

You are wasting band width here.

"...but a thorough search might help you to be self informed.

Multiple tours in Vietnam left me about as informed as I care to be about that war.

Good night, tired one.

Ah, beautiful. I accept your complete surrender. It's fairly common for posters on this board to make the move to insults when their arguments are repudiated at every turn. I have to give you credit though; you lasted longer than many here have. When i_dont_chat sent his similar comment this thread was only at about #65.

Hey, and credit for doing it publicly too, for everyone to see. i_dont_chat didn't have the courage to do it outside of FR mail

I'd recommend you avoid my posts altogether to protect your delicate sensibilities.

Similarly, I believe it is even possible to avoid the works of Ann Coulter, if one finds them unpleasant.

But weirdly, so many here can't get enough of complaining about what she says. They complain about her endlessly on a thousand different threads.

They can't stand her and they don't want anything to do with her.

It's like the old joke: "Such terrible food! And such small portions!"

"...It's about whipping up the foam around her already conservative reader's mouths so that they will be more likely to buy her books."

That part is pretty close.

Don't dismiss the possibility she is causing "moderates" to look in the mirror and examine themselves.

.

And not like the reflection.
