Father’s Day reflections on a son lost (Gag Alert-Papa Berg)
Independent ^ | 6/16/06 | Michael Berg

Posted on 06/16/2006 3:33:17 PM PDT by arbee4bush

Of all of the holidays a grieving father can be confronted with after the death of his child, Father’s Day is for me the most difficult.

My son Nick died in Iraq on May 7, 2004. He is buried
next to my father, who had died just a year and a half before. That is not the way it’s supposed to be.

-snip-

There is a lot else going on that is not the way it is supposed to be. Our leaders are not supposed to lie to us. Yet because George Bush and company told us to beware of weapons of mass destruction and the so-called Iraqi involvement in 9/11, my son lost his life, as did 150,000 others on both sides whose loved ones are now grieving.

This garbage was published in our little home town paper's editorial page today. I wonder why Crazy Papa Berg thinks he needs to 'advertise' his 'grief'? You would think he was running for office or something (/s)

What a sick, pathetic liar........ running on his perverted VICTIMhood.

"The wrong guy died."
You bet! Nick had guts and was a capitalist. We made a bad choice and I wish he hadn't but his father blaming the president is stupid.

" I wonder why Crazy Papa Berg thinks he needs to 'advertise' his 'grief'?"

He isn't ... he's continuing in his hatred for President Bush ... not love for a son now gone.

I cannot fathom why this effin' idiot harbors no animosity for Zarqawi or the terrorists. It is truly amazing.

What I don't understand is why he had to send this to a small town paper. And where else is he sending this crap?

He is hitting small town America with his garbage.

Our daughter called us last night to tell us she is being deployed to go over there in Sept. And I realized that my little girl has more courage and honor in her little body than this pig will ever understand in a million life-times with his sh*tty outlook.

So he hopes to use being a victim to get elected to the Congress!

I hope his opposition isn't shy about pointing out what a nut he is.

What did the guy do for a living?

His son had a choice or not to go to Iraq. Instead of the low wages our GIs make, he was undoubted was making very big bucks setting up telecommunication lines over there. His choice. Don't blame the President.

I feel sorry for you. I can honestly say I am glad he doesn't live near me. I'm not a violent person by nature but reading this is testing my limits.

Hey Nick: Your son went into Iraq of his own free will trying to make a buck. He got caught and killed. How is this GWB's fault?

I feel sorry for his son, I don't feel one ounce of sorrow or pity for this loser of a dad.

Some people get kind of crazy when they lose a child. I'm sure I would, although I'm not sure what form that craziness would take. I hope I wouldn't allow bitterness and anger to take over my life.

I'm just glad I'm not in Mr. Berg's shoes. That was a terrible way to lose a child, even if the child was an adult who knew what he was doing was terribly risky. I can't imagine seeing my child beheaded.

Sometimes here in the South when someone is a little nuts like that, the correct response is just to say, "Bless his heart" and move on.

By the way, arbee, thank your daughter for her service. She'll be in our prayers.

Well, as long as he doesn't have any other children, you could look at it as generational Darwinism.
