But I thought they were just developing nuclear energy to generate electricity and that they were not trying to acquire nuclear weapons. They said so.

Islamics may be barbarously evil but their big mouths always expose them for the cowards and blow-hards they are.

As the President would say..."nukular defense, when did that happen?"

if "threatened by any power."

...hmmmm, could that be a bit of an overreaction for simply being threatened? NO ONE is listening to them anymore...they squawk so often... We should listen....

If they want to test the concept of mutual assured destruction, then by all means.

Here's what troubles me:

Iran's defense minister on Thursday vowed that his country would "use nuclear defense as a potential" if "threatened by any power."

Meanwhile, Turkmani told reporters that Syria and Iran's "policy is the policy of strengthening resistance and tackling the threats of United States and Israel."

It's right there, right THERE...Iran will use nuclear weapons against threats, and it considers Israel and the US a threat. How much clearer does it need to be? If the International community accepts this stance, then Iran could technically be justified in launching an attack at any point.

With some clever sabotage one could provoke a large scale purge in iranian military R&D and security establishments.

This raving Islamist lunatic is going to get a whole lot of wonderful Persians killed -- if they don't get his ass and the Lunatic Clerics under control......

The civilized world can't afford to take the risk of permitting a first or second nuclear strike capability by raving lunatics who SEEK Armageddon and death....

If we are forced to strike - the strike will be devastating -- and WIDESPREAD...

Nuclear defense?

Is that Persian for "I'll nuke myself"?

These type of wackos feel "threatened" is someone says no to their aggression.

For example, Iran demands that Israel die and we say no. The mullahs will then feel "threatened".

Puff and bluster.

Remember, the leaders don't buy into the "72 virgins" crap. That's just pap to motivate their uneducated grunts.

They know that if Iran uses a nuke, the entire country -- as well as a large part of the rest of the ME -- will cease to exist overnight. Even they aren't that stupid.

/OK, that was the side of me that wants to believe they are remotely rational. Here's the truth:

Of course they will use nukes if they get them. They don't care about life in any way, shape, or form, theirs or ours. They just care about appeasing their Moon God. That's why we CANNOT let them get nukes. Period. Or hundreds of thousands if not millions of innocents WILL die in a nuclear holocaust.
