The leaders of the state's Democratic and Republican parties have asked voters not to cast ballots for state Supreme Court candidate Rachel Lea Hunter, whose fiery rhetoric in recent weeks has included comparing the actions of a black congressional candidate to that of a slave.
"She's unstable and unqualified, and the thought of her serving on the highest court in North Carolina is scary," state Republican party chairman Ferrell Blount said Tuesday.
Blount's comments came after Hunter, a former Republican running as a Democrat, used the title "Dur Fuhrer" -- commonly associated with Nazi leader Adolf Hitler -- when referring to state Democratic party chief Jerry Meek. Such rhetoric led Meek to endorse Republican-backed incumbent Mark Martin in his race with Hunter for a seat on the state's high court.
"From my own personal perspective, I think she lacks the judgment and temperament to be a judge at any level," said Meek, who called Martin an "able and competent member of the court."

Liberalism that afflicts the soul eventually ends up afflicting the body; call it the curse of Helen Thomas. Take two random people, seemingly with enough similarities between them to be identical: both human, both women, both even named Rachel Hunter.
But one is a proud Aussie conservative , the other a shrill leftist who can't decide whether she sounds better talking like a national socialist or just plain Democrat socialist. Yes, Virginia, ideas do have consequences.

It's appalling that such a person could be a major party nominee for statewide office.

Of course they had to phrase it:
"Hunter, a former Republican running as a Democrat"

Actually, if it wasn't for the fact that she insulted the Chairman of the NC Democrats, this would barely register a blip on the newsmedia radar screen. Insulting Vernon Robinson ain't what they're mad over.
Besides, her problem ain't that she's nuts or a racist, but that she is incredibly stupid.

Actually, their emphasizing she was an apostate RINO explained a lot. Many of these liberal twits are truly a cancer in our party, and examples such as Hunter demonstrate what they REALLY think, and I'm glad she had the common courtesy to exeunt stage left.
