Gaurav Raja can't explain how he memorized such a big slice of pi. The 15-year-old from Salem, Va., insists that there is no trick to memorizing 10,980 digits of pi, a feat that makes him the North American record-holder. He just did it. "I don't see anything in my head. It's just kind of there," he said yesterday. "It just flows, I guess." Gaurav has become a mathematical legend despite being a rising senior at Salem High School.

Yeah but he memorized up to 10,980 digits. Unreal, I don`t believe it unless he has some sort of formula for finding the next number memorized. How fast did he recite this?

"Gaurav has become a mathematical legend despite being a rising senior at Salem High School."Now THAT's funny. Are other newspapers going to follow the trend and start describing people as "smart, even though they attended public schools"?

Meanwhile his classmates voted him most like to die a virgin. Not necessarily.A kid that I grew up next to could probably do that. His mother drove him like a slave to study, study, study.
As a result of this,he had no personality of any sort and no looks either. However,he graduated from medical school and now lives in a $1.5 million house with his *stunningly* beautiful wife.
To: Screamname
Unreal, I don`t believe it unless he has some sort of formula for finding the next number memorized. If thats the case, then this kid is about win a noble prize.
And that would be a much bigger story then rote memorization.
