In the controversy over Ann Coulter's comments about the group of 9/11 widows, there is one critical question, from the point of view of ensuring standards of accuracy in the media. How does Coulter know it to be true that, "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much." There is no evidence whatsoever that those women enjoyed their husbands' deaths, and Coulter offers none. The only "evidence" for this preposterous and hurtful claim is that the women became activists and sought the media spotlight and took a political position at odds with that of Coulter. But what does that prove?
I think Coulter probably would have been correct to say that the women appeared to enjoy the media attention. You don't go on these shows unless you enjoy them to some degree. But enjoying a death? And the death of a loved one when fatherless children were left behind? Coulter's comments are not only false but cruel. She has also made other disparaging personal comments about the women.
In journalism, facts and truth are supposed to matter. Opinions are allowed, and Coulter, a columnist for Human Events and many other newspapers, is entitled to her own opinions.

If the matter only involved personal opinions about people or things, Coulter's comments wouldn't really be newsworthy or significant. But she is claiming to have inside knowledge of the personal psychology of this group of women who lost their husbands on 9/11. That is why the comments have generated so much outrageexcept from a few conservatives unwilling to criticize her.

In your case, it could be either.
We cried when we saw the tape on Friday of Osama Bin Laden. He's tanned and healthy. He does not look desperate or scared. He does not look like a man on the run.
Three years ago, President Bush promised us he would capture Osama Bin Laden--Dead or Alive. He didn't do that.
The man that murdered our husbands, is back terrorizing our country again. The videotape of him has brought us back to 9/11. We feel threatened. We feel vulnerable. We are scared.
Our question to President Bush is: Why didn't you catch him when you promised us you would? Why is this mass murderer--this madman-- still out there making videotapes and terrorizing our country three years after you promised our country that you would make us safe from him? President Bush, why cant you keep us safe from this madmen? Kristen Breitweiser and Monica Gabrielle
If she's such a brilliant marketer, she'd hardly pull a David Brock after all the money he's made playing Judas to the right. I'd completely forgotten about him save the three mentions you've made of him the last few days on your AC stalking runs.
Sadly you feel some compulsion to project your own inadequacies as a "writer" onto this lovely woman, insulting her and her supporters with banal jabs at her attractiveness, her methods (Coulterism, ROFLMAO), her choice in men, her bank account, and at what you perceive to be her motivations for her latest polemic.
Your nasty words sound like a cry for help, and I say without irony that I believe professional counseling would really help with your anger issues. Good luck.
Coulter is an former dead-head who works for the liberals.
Her entire purpose is to make shocking half-true remarks which make conservatives appear knee-jerk and mean spirited.
She's an ugly clown. People should stop paying attention to her.
Hey, I'm not too proud to admit that I meant to say preaching to the choir!
Is your tagline from The Godfather?
I feel sorry for the Jersey Girls' children. They lost their Fathers and then lost their Mothers to the Democrat/MSM machine.
I think our time to be mean is long overdue.
Ooo. She makes conservatives appear mean spirited!
Shades of Clintonista propaganda circa 1998!
Modify that to say that about the aftermmath and it would be a valid observation. For some reason, Cindy Sheehan smiles and laughs too much to go with the "oh I'm a grieving mom" billing. It's disturbing.
She does that so much, so often you believe it's her real feelings and that when she's the sad or angry mom, that it's just an act.
But be sure to give her handlers, Cope Pink, VFP, David Swanson credit for their share of that BS.
"Explain how she works for liberals."
Attacking 9/11 widows? Come on!
She's a media whore who makes her money making conservatives appear unreasonable. That's exactly why the msm gives her so much attention.
When was the last time you saw someone thoughtful (George Will, Krauthammer, Buckley, ect) on some low grade cable shout-fest?
There is a reason for that.
Illiteracy, and the Illiterate Nonliterates Who Revel In Their Aliteracy (starring sinkie!)
I will admit that you don't find the verb "blooded" in many current tomes, but it's quite common in archaic texts.
Try again.
So, we find you ceaselessly nitpicking Coulter's meaning, but you clearly seem to admit you don't have a deeper grasp of the roots of the language.
When you encounter an unfamiliar usage, your fallback position is "ebonics"?
Tell it to Will. ;-)
Neither you nor Brock look as good as Ann in that little black dress.
Sex, Drugs and Geritol?
Me, I'm going to bag it for the night.
Same time, same station, the morrow.
"She's a media whore who makes her money making conservatives appear unreasonable. That's exactly why the msm gives her so much attention."
She makes excellent points attacking liberals, sending them into a frenzy and she makes money in the process. Is this a great country or what. But you still have not explained how she is working for liberals.
" When was the last time you saw someone thoughtful (George Will, Krauthammer, Buckley, ect) on some low grade cable shout-fest?"
I'm not sure I've seen Ann in a "shout fest" that wasn't instigated by a liberal. She is usually calm and thoughtful before responding to an interviewer. However, when she is being assaulted by liberals, she will raise her voice to make herself heard. In your own words...
"There is a reason for that."
She drives liberals crazy. So... how does she work for liberals?
>>When you have to explain the meaning of a commonly-used and defined word, you've lost the argument.<<
You mean like "nigardly"?
And Ann has lost no argument here.
"She drives liberals crazy. So... how does she work for liberals?"
Because she inspires them. Because they LOVE to hate her.
I'll just end this back and forth by saying that as a libertarian conservative (but apparently full of "liberal talking points"), I find her tasteless, thoughtless, and a total huckster. The Michael Moore of the right.
So Bush "works" for liberals because they love to hate him too, eh? And Free Republic as well?
