When I was listening to the DA's office today I was struck by her saying that this was the usual punishment for someone who's convicted of DUI with a prescription drug. My point is, has he been convicted for drunk driving in DC? If so, it was an obious way around certain jail time.

Maybe the Kennedy's can share it with TahRayZA Kerry Heinz for her next public appearance...ha.
By the way.....a physician or other health professsional ---if he gets a DUI--has 5 years of probation and random drug testing!!!!(not a year with no random drug testing, like Kennedy got).
what an arrogant, inbred disgusting family.

You know one thing I noticed? When it's good news for Republicans, there are quite a few freepers who we don't hear from. All we want is enforcement of our borders, a repeal of McCain-Feingold, the Perscription Drug Plan and the Kennedy Education Plan, and elimination of the death tax. Then you'll hear from us plenty!

Nah, we'll still find something to gripe about. Old habits die hard.

With the exception of a few old cranks, most of us aren't griping. Rather we are setting and maintaining expectations. It's like raising children. When your kid makes bad choices you don't tell him that his choices were good, and if he is breaking promises, you don't accept his justification for breaking promises. You set the expectation for acting on principle, with honor, courage and integrity.

****Driving under the influence of PRESCRIPTION drugs???? That doesn't sound ILLEGAL to me....is there a LAW against driving while taking a PRESCRIPTION drug????****
- Yes it IS illegal
- Yes there are laws against it.
As........
- It depends on the prescription drug you're taking - and the dosage.
For instance:
- Blood pressure meds, Okay, fine.
- Thyroid meds, Okay, fine.
- Pain killers (Vicodin, Demerol), sleeping pills, barbiturates, muscle relaxants (Flexeril) - NO.
[That's why they have those little yellow warning labels on the Rx bottle.]

All jokes aside, it is refreshing to see Kennedy admit to this. It tells me he is serious about fighting his addiction and I wish him the best in his recovery.
