"I appreciate you recognize the fact that the future of your country is in your hands," Bush told al-Maliki. "I appreciate your committment to representing the people of Iraq."
The president arrived in Baghdad at 8:08 a.m. EDT, or 4:08 p.m. local time. It was the second surprise visit he's made to the country in the past three years. Last time, Bush went to visit U.S. troops on Thanksgiving in 2003. At that time, his visit wasn't announced until after he left. This time, his arrival was reported after he touched down in Baghdad's Green Zone.
Only a handful of aides knew of the trip as the president had been speaking since last week about hosting a Camp David retreat where the president, his Cabinet and his national security and military team were supposed to hold a teleconference Tuesday with al-Maliki and his Cabinet. The two-day retreat provided cover for Bush to travel secretly and for al-Maliki and his Cabinet to arrive in the Green Zone for the meeting.

Here it is.....ask to be pinged.
I missed this nugget yesterday... literally.
One would-be terrorist + pornography = a just ending
My new issue of the Atlantic magazine arrived today, ironically with a Wanted poster of Zarqawi on the cover. Bad timing, that. http://www.theatlantic.com/
Over on page 92, theres this anecdote (faithfully re-typed):
Despite their enthusiasm, al-Zarqawi, al-Maqdisi, and Abu Muntassir did not appear to be natural revolutionaries. Their first operation was in Zarqa, in 1993, a former Jordanian intelligence office told me, when al-Zarqawi dispatched one of their men to a local cinema with orders to blow it up because it was showing pornographic films. But the hapless would-be bomber apparently got so distracted by what was happening on the screen that he forgot about his bomb. It exploded and blew off his legs.
I cant add or subtract anything to that story. Good night!
Ich bin ein berliner
Couldn't find the thread. :) That lib caller mentioning Jeeeesus, I think that's so funny. :) I am wondering if this means libs are changing their thinking on things. Jesus, last time I read through the Gospels, would be pretty clearly opposed to abortion, partial term abortion, gay marriage, embryonic stem cell research creating embryos as a crop to harvest, restricting prayer at public functions, and other democrat plank issues. Are libs going to start changing their tune on all that, because JEEEEESUS is against those things also? Yeah right. That loser from Lansing MI is like the biggest hypocrit of the year on the radio so far. He's in bed with all those things I'm sure, things that JEEEESUS and the teachings of the Bible oppose, and he has the audacity to use the name of Christ to prop up his liberal agenda on one small issue. As a Christian, who actually lives and acts like one, that is supremely offensive, and I LOVE how Rush handled that moron. I point out my tagling in response to that idiot caller. :)
Good pickup, Ali. Subtle...very subtle.
Hey, thank you. :)
YW
Really, it's not sacreligious, since he's pointing out the hypocrisy of a liberal having the audacity to mention Jesus for one point, when liberals 99% of the time oppose everyting Jesus standds for. I think that's where he was coming for. He wasn't mocking Jesus at all, he was pointing out, I think, how blasphemous it is for a self-identified troglodyte like that moron from Mansing MI to use Jesus as a way of defending his liberal agenda on that point. I think that's totally where he was coming from. :)
Hey ac....Actually, both spellings are correct. The oldest spelling is Atilla...that is why I use it.
I answer to both!
The other accepted spelling is Attila.
Now THOSE are illegal aliens! I wonder if they had visas!
I thought Rosie had a Duncan Donuts permanently chained to HER...Oh I am more CRUEL than Ann Coulter...
