Ann Coulter banned in New Jersey?

Best-sellers were once made by being banned in Boston.

Now a pair of New Jersey state legislators are trying to ban a book already atop the best-sellers list.

Once again, the book stirring all the controversy is Ann Coulter's "Godless: The Church of Liberalism."

Two Democrats – Assemblywomen Joan Quigley and Linda Stender – are pushing to ban "Godless" from all bookstores in their state because of Coulter's biting criticism of four 9-11 widows known as "the Jersey Girls," who demanded investigations into President Bush's role in allowing the terrorist attacks.

No one in New Jersey should buy this book and allow Ann Coulter to profit from her hate-mongering," the two said in a joint statement. "We are asking New Jersey retailers statewide to stand with us and express their outrage by refusing to carry or sell copies of Coulter's book. Her hate-filled attacks on our 9-11 widows has no place on New Jersey bookshelves."

In her new book, the WND columnist argues that while many Americans are outraged by liberal hostility to traditional religion, to focus solely on the Left's attacks on Judeo-Christian tradition is to miss a larger point: Liberalism is a religion – a godless one.

"Liberals love to boast that they are not 'religious,' which is what one would expect to hear from the state-sanctioned religion," she writes.

"Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles, its own beliefs in the supernatural, its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as 'religion.'"

Chapter headings in Coulter's "Godless" include "On the Seventh Day, God Rested and Liberals Schemed" and "Liberals' Doctrine of Infallibility: Sobbing Hysterical Women" and "The Holiest Sacrament: Abortion."

Coulter is the author of four New York Times bestsellers: "How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must)," "Treason," "Slander," and "High Crimes and Misdemeanors."

Most of the criticism of Coulter is focused on comments in her book about four 9-11 widows using the deaths of their husbands to push a political cause.

Coulter is the first publicly to take on the New Jersey widows who pushed for an independent commission to investigate the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The women also backed Democrat John Kerry's presidential candidacy in 2004.

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis. I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much," Coulter writes in "Godless."

So are you defending them?

I am not. Your clarification of the issue regarding the nature of the press release has provided sufficient information to support the initial claim of the article. Their statement is as much an attempt to ban Ann Coulter's book as a publically-funded press release issued by a conservative legislator urging movie studios not to show Michael Moore's latest movie -- whatever that might be -- is an attempt to ban Michael Moore.

Just for that, I'm cancelling my vacation plans for Trenton (/s).

Ironic that Ann Coulter's banned but the book by gay ex-gov who committed numerous crimes against the state gets a free pass.

Gay Jimbo McGreevey's tell-all----"Pay-Me-I'm-a-Victim"---actually thinks people will believe he's a "victim" notwithstanding the depravity of his term in office. The list of state and federal crimes would fill an encyclopedia of political crime waves.

It was all downhill from here when Jimbo and Golan Cipel met when then-Mayor Jimmy went on a politicans' obeisance tour to Israel to scrounge for votes and campaign contributions. Even better than, Jimbo brought Golan home as a vote-buying souvenir.

This pic of McGreevey meeting Golan Cipel in Israel occured just two weeks after McG proposed marriage to his now-ex Dina Matos.

Law enforcement told the media that the FBI was investigating Cipel's blackmail efforts. Attorneys for Cipel were alleged to have demanded millions of dollars from McGreevey in exchange for Cipel not filing a sexual harassment lawsuit. That is to say, they were extorting tax dollars.

McGreevey appopinted Cipel as his HomeLand advisor. But the frightening part is that McSeedy DEMANDED Cipel be briefed by the US military and L/E on ways the tri-state area was protecting its vulnerable post-9/11 areas---like bridges and tunnels. Moreover, Cipel even turned up at a national HomeLandSec meeting in DC at which GWB spoke---even though Cipel was not listed as an official attendee. This guy Cipel creeped around the tri-state area after 9/11, sneaking around, getting national security info he was not supposed to have----God knows what the creep did with all the info he got ahold of.

Ah the McG.

From state parole board, to mayor of Woodbridge, to governor, to the circuit of lucrative book tours.

Whatever happened to our Golan Cipel, $110,000 a year gubernatorial aide? Is he still consulting?

Amazing how this sleaze McGay left the taxpayers holding the bag while he profits off of servicing anonymous gay partners in turnpike rest rooms, isn't it?

As for Cipel---no need to worry about this ingenious illegal alien. After sucessfully servicing the governor of New Jersey, getting on the state payroll, and having unlimited access to US national security secrets, Cipel can name his price and get any job he wants......and US taxpayers will still be paying and paying and paying for his keep, ad infinitum, ad nauseaum.

It's so predictable and amusing to witness that Ann Coulter is consistently proven right by the looney left. Here's the party of the First Amendment, stalwart defenders of the freedom of the press and of speech, screeching for an offensive book to be banned. The irony, though thick enough to cut with a knife, is lost on libs.

Gee, didn't Liberals hate it when "Catcher in The Rye" and other leftist type books were banned? It appears they have become the very kind of people they so despised.
