RENO, Nev. (AP) A judge has been shot at a courthouse in Reno, a police spokesman says.
Like the campaign ad is going to tell you he's a monster.
Try another source.
Guranteed this was a small caliber weapon, or a glancing shot from the side taht didn't penetrate the chest cavity.
If they don't ID the perp in 48 hours, they will never have him.
UPDATE: There is a second victim in the shooting.

Authorities said Family Court Judge Chuck Weller's administrative assistant also was injured Monday when the judge was shot in the chest in his third-floor chambers in Reno Justice Court.
Authorities said Annie Allison received superficial wounds to her left arm, neck and hip after she rushed into Weller's office seconds after the shooting.
Why did he shoot at the courthouse?
so this person is an expert with a rifle.
Possible Suppects?:
If you live in Washoe County (Reno Nevada) and you are of voting age pay close attention. There is a judge on the bench in family court Chuck Weller. He just got elected but has already proven to be faulty. While trying to get elected he had a go to boy and mouth piece name Jeff Veasley. Jeff Veasley just happens to be good friends with my daughter's father. I believe Jeff was telling Chuck about our family court case throughout the whole election and after Weller took the bench. Yes. I think Weller is on the take. He has been very angry and agressive towards me due to his preivious one sided knowledge of our case. Instead of doing the right thing and removing himself from the case he is staying on the case and favoring my Ex. Pactically undoing everything the honorable Judge Jordan (ret) did before Phuck Weller was elected. There has to be other cases he in bed with one of the parties. Let it be know and post it.

Family court Judge Chuck Weller of Reno NV lied to everyone by saying he was going to defend father's rights to get elected. Once on the bench he has single handed destroyed more GOOD father's with his (shoot from the hip) punishing motions. He takes all statements against fathers as true despite all evidence opposing them and then makes impossible orders which the fathers can never comply with. Then punishes the fathers for not following his impossible order. Everyone should outraged at his bias behavior and do everything that can legally be done to get this HITLER off the bench.

The NEW TERRORISM! Judge Chuck Weller of Washoe County Family Court has people (both men & women) running from his courtroom in TERROR. He threatens to take your children, your freedom, your property!
Weller uses whatever tactics to force you to submit to his imperial demands and tyrannical orders. Every story from each person that I have talked to in my investigation has similar experience. They are terrorized and don't understand why he is being so aggressive when they've done nothing wrong.
Does Weller ever rule on the law or does he just rule on his whims?

Judge shot, wounded at Nev. courthouse
SCOTT SONNER, Associated Press Writer
RENO, Nev. - A family court judge was shot and wounded as he stood near a third-floor courthouse window Monday, and police sealed off the area and searched nearby parking garages for a sniper.
Chuck Weller, 53, was hit in the chest around midday by a shot or shots that came through his office window at the Mills B. Lane Justice Center, authorities said. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was reported in serious condition.
"He is conscious and talking with his family," police spokesman Steve Frady said.
Police said they had no suspects, but family court officials said the sniper could be someone unhappy with a ruling in a child custody case.
"The incident is shocking, but the risk is not shocking. We're well aware this is the inherent risk of trying to solve conflicts. Sometimes you don't solve them peacefully and people take the law into their own hands," said Darin Conforti, court administrator of Reno Justice Court.
Police closed off six blocks around the courthouse on the edge of Reno's downtown casino district, which otherwise remained open. A SWAT team was called in, and officers conducted a floor-by-floor search of the courthouse and the neighboring parking garages.
"We don't know precisely where that round may have come from, so we have to close down and search a large area just north of the court complex," Undersheriff Mike Haley told KRNV-TV.
Annie Allison, believed to be Weller's secretary, was hit by glass or bullet fragments in her arm and hip, but her wounds were superficial, Frady said.
Weller, a Reno lawyer, was elected to the bench in 2004. He hosted a legal advice program on a Reno radio station from 1989 to 2002 and wrote a legal advice column in the Sunday Reno Gazette-Journal from 2000 to 2004. He once led opposition to a county bond issue to build a new courthouse.
After the shooting, city and county employees were kept inside the building because police did not know if it was safe on the streets.
"It's just terrifying. It's very scary. It's speculation, but I would say it was the work of a disgruntled person," said Reno Justice of the Peace Harold Albright, a friend of Weller's. "Family court judges take people's children away and take property away. Those are such basic decisions that are very emotional."
Albright added: "It's still very shocking. He's a nice guy and real hardworking. I can't imagine he would be gruff or disparaging to anyone in his courtroom. He's not a brusque, grumpy person."

BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Local Judge Shot
RenoJohn Tyson, Ed Pearce, Terri Russell
Police are searching a six-block area in downtown Reno for a suspected sniper who shot and wounded a family court judge at the Washoe County courthouse complex.
Judge Chuck Weller was hit in the chest by a shot or shots that came through the window in his office on the third floor of the Mills B. Lane Justice Center about 11:15 this morning.
Weller was taken to Washoe Medical Center where he is reported to be in serious condition, but alert.
Reno police spokesman Steve Frady says Weller is conscious and is talking with his family.
A second woman identified as Annie Allison was with Weller at the time and suffered superficial wounds to her left arm and right hip when she apparently was hit by glass or bullet fragments.
Police believe the shots were fired from outside, but they do NOT know how many shots were fired or exactly where they came from.
A SWAT team is on the scene. Police have closed off six blocks around the courthouse just south of the Truckee River on the south end of Reno's downtown casino district, but the district along Virginia Street otherwise remains open.
Police have no suspects but family court officials are speculating the shooter could be someone unhappy with a past ruling in a child custody case.
The 53-year-old Weller was elected to the bench in 2004. He previously hosted a legal advice program on a Reno radio station and wrote a legal advice column in the Sunday Reno Gazette-Journal.
5 pm TV news says multiple shots fired, one hit him in the chest, it passed thru and did not damage any organs or cause any major damage,, lucky fellow if so..
20 minutes for 12 bucks? That's a bargain.
I think there's a whole new business here. Maybe you're lonely for your ex-wife. Maybe you just want to remind yourself why you're single. Maybe you're getting dangerously close to dropping by her place late some night to see if one spark remains.
The answer is professional henpecking. You go see a really bitter professional ex. Fifteen minutes, half an hour... maybe some high-performance guys could take a whole hour of rabid browbeating. Of course I think good hissy fits should command higher wages than $12. But you could work that out at the (cough) Fair Tirade Commission.
There was a name given of a person of interest, another murder occurred about 3pm in area as well it sounds, there may or any mot be a connection between judge's shooter and this murder, spokesman unable to confirm at this time name of victim.
