While folks may disagree with Coutler and are welcome to do so, it would be nice if they could at least exhibit the ability to comprehend what she was trying to say. Then they could disagree on the merits. Failing that, these folks seem dreadfully ignorant and their calls for anything fall flat on that basis. They also fall flat on the basis of being woefully disgusting and inexplicably over the top.

Coulter didn't express the view that anyone should be harmed, or that they deserved to be. She expressed an opinion. It's an opinion that I essentially agree with. I agree with it because I understand what she was trying to say, and she was right.

This has got to be one of the most flagrant examples of stupidity that our system of education has managed to attain that I've seen yet. Thinking is a no no. Integrity is a no no. Professionalism sadly redefined. Second grade status seems to be increasingly pervasive in today's journalism!

What is Advertising Age, which I understand to be a magazine covering the ad industry, doing making political commentary which has little if anything to do with their field.

When my wife was in J-school almost fifteen years ago, she came to me with a monograph and asked me to read it, so she could confirm her initial opinion of the piece.

It was written by a professor of journalism from Columbia, and the subject was the propriety of a journalist injecting their political opinion into hard news.

After reading it, we found we were in complete agreement on the author's thesis...it's okay to for the journalist to inject their political opinion if they have REALLY REALLY agonized over whether they should do it or not.

I was in no hurry to buy her book, until the left started to crap themselves in outrage. Now I can't wait until my copy comes from the good folks at American Compass.

(I'd normally pick one up from Barnes and Noble, but my local store isn't carrying it. Wonder why?)
