Ding-Dong Zarqawi's Dead!!
The wonderful news that our military eliminated this horrible beast set the tone for the evening. So many months of hard work and persistence finally paid off in a spectacular manner and we were prepared to celebrate the success of Task Force 145 and all of the members of the military who have been successful in their own MOSs.
We were also mindful that this was a day of disappointment and sorrow for CodePink and commie sympathizers everywhere. Their icon was gone - blown up by the military they so despise. It must have been especially painful for them to learn that Zarqawi lived long enough to see free Iraqi police and U.S. troops bending over his wasted remains before he finally shuffled off this mortal coil. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Heavy rain drenched the D.C. area late in the afternoon, but tapered off before 7pm. Our usual crowd of FReepers and friends was bolstered tonight by 12 College Republicans who were in town for their annual caucus. The honor roll of attendance (lurkers marked with *):

College Republicans included Lindy, Billy, Esther, Cindy, Troy, Zach, Paul, Mason, Charlie, George, Amanda and Ashley.

Back up at the gates, we were having a great time waiving flags, cheering, and gleefully mingling with the boisterous and jubilant College Republicans. The young'uns love honking horns and made sure the intersection was a continuous cacophony. HOORAY!

Last week, tgslTakoma had the happy pleasure of meeting a soldier from her hometown. This week it was Just A Nobody and visiting Soldiers' Angel MaryAnn and husband Jere who discovered their shared geographical ties. MaryAnn came down from Ohio to spend her birthday out front of Walter Reed. Now that's patriotism! |

We'll be back out at Walter Reed next Friday night, June 16th, from 6:30 until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C.Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future. This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

What beautiful sentiment. I'm a little misty eyed here.
We were all surprised and delighted when the College Republican kids arrived. The guys were lively, but the girls really got the passing cars to honk and cheer. And it truly was a treat to meet Mary Ann and her husband who had traveled so far to spend her birthday on the corner thanking the troops for their sacrifice. It was a great night!

Thank you for baking those magnificent cookies for our Troops! I received a phone call from one of the soldiers 20 minutes after we left, he just returned to WR and there were no cookies left! I think they were waiting for us to leave before they devoured them. ;*)
Unfortunately, we always see the "girlie men" of Code Pink only get physical with women who are substatially shorter than themselves.
Amazing he was out in the rain with that bald spot and no hat. That's got to be cold.
I'm going to get there, one of these days!!
Keep up your good work. It's a lead-pipe cinch that our troops are inspired by your activities.

Notice the VFP guy with the "TEACH PEACE" button on his "This Was Kewl Back In The 60s" hat. He's mourning Al-Zarqawi's death with a black arm band. Do he and Bruce Wolf go shopping for clothes together. They have the same tastes. What a maroon.

Is it forbidden for me to see all the pictures? When I tried to right click and "view image" it comes up FORBIDDEN.
The caption near one said there were two women in the photo and one was you. Very confusing as I saw two men and one woman.
