Folks, I really doubt Coulter is "battered" and needs defending. Being in your face and controversial is just part of her marketing persona. If she wasn't the topic of so many headlines and conversations she wouldn't have a #1 selling book.

I'm sure very time she reads or hears and insult she also hears the sound of a cash register in the background.

A crock. I am confident Conservatives could field better reasoned counterpoints to Liberalism than that of Coulter's.< Then why don't we hear them? Go ahead give us a reasoned counterpoint to the emotional blackmail liberals use every day, their prime one being throwing the race card into every issue. Give us a reasoned response to the shout down liberals do everytime a conservative is speaking, say at a college. This is common for liberals, stop any response and use emotions instead of brains to sway people. Ann C. has it right and people like you have it wrong.

A great read, except maybe "They buttered their bread; now they refuse to sleep in it" should be "made their bed and (etc)." That one stopped my brain cold! :-)

Ann is 100% correct, by the way (and so are you). Thanks for laying the facts out so clearly.

Ann Coulter is right.

I sincerely doubt the media and the politicians will be able to force her into a noxious PC public apology.

People often forget she was a lawyer, before she became a pundit...
See also FlingWingFlyer's "quote of the day" yesterday, from:

Lethally blonde

Ann Coulter has made a career out of saying the unthinkable. Last week the bestselling American author caused outrage when she described the widows of 9/11 as 'witches' who revelled in their husbands' deaths.

Mixing soundbites with short skirts, this former lawyer has become the most extreme - and popular - polemicist in America. How did that happen?

Ann got a direct hit on the lefties with her two 500 pounders and they're all trying to get off the gurney and run away.

LOL!

Go Ann!

From wikipedia.org:
Polemic is the art or practice of inciting disputation or causing controversy, for example in religious, philosophical, or political matters.

As such a polemic text on a topic is written specifically to dispute or refute a topic that is widely viewed to be a "sacred cow" or beyond reproach, in an effort to "stir up trouble"...
Well, he got THAT part right!

rumor was Cleland was juggling the grenade

Up until the 2002 Senate race, Cleland himself remained humble about the incident and never exploited it. The DNC paid him some money under the table, IMO.

But I couldn't get around it. What person describes the death of a loved one in such detail? Think about it

Yes, indeed.

I am confident Conservatives could field better reasoned counterpoints to Liberalism than that of Coulter's.

Go make them. Tell us if the anyone pays the slightest attention.

Coulter has brilliantly and incisively laid open the liberal brain and displayed it in all its vile, oozing, acidic blackness. That makes some conservatives uncomfortable, and they blame the surgeon (Coulter) for offending their eyes and delicate sensibilities.

I agree. The book not only exposes the "grief" and "victimhood" tactics of the vicious Left it is funny. The Left is correct to fear this book.

Duly noted ... still waiting to read the sinky reply.

Oh, sinkie already read this thread - you can bet on that. It contains WAYYY too much truth for him to step in, though.

Sinkie's just a nooz junkie on FR - albeit an old-timer nooz junkie. He doesn't really do a whole lot except shoot up his favorite targets with his keyboard.

In this case, Coulter has presented herself as the perfect target, and ol' sinkie has got himself a stack of quarters and a carnival popgun to flog her with.

Gads! His posts on the Coulter kerfluffle are like reading portions of a sermon by an outraged Baptist minister (my apologies to the Baptists out there!).

If he shows up to rebut this post at all, it'll be full of scathing ad-hominens and won't address the meat of the article post at all.

Mostly because that takes the legs out from under the caterwauling of the so-called right-wingers who are castigating Coulter over her spot-on spittle for the Jersey Girls. ;-)
