Look at the Dem platform when Hubert Humphrey was running.
_________________________________________________________
I have. But I do not think you have. Never were so many new big govt. programs sponsored and implemented by dems as back in the 60s and they are all listed in the platform of the Dems in 1968.
As for HH---he was a left winger but you might be referring to the fact that he rejected the so-called peace platform. On everything else he was quite the liberal- the Wellstone of his time.
As for Kennedy and the tax cuts...to the dismay of dems, Republicans have used Kennedy's own words to promote tax cuts. He was certainly right on that. Supply side economics works.
Why do RINOs care if the paleocons go? Using false pretenses, they snuck into the Republican party and took it over. Well, now they have it.
You just whined, hypocrit.
Neocon, shmeocon. Ain't no such thing.
I really hate the terms "neo" and "paleo" conservative. At least the "neo-conservative" phrase, and probably "paleo" as well, was invented by a bitter socialist, angry that former liberals were turning conservative, in an attempt to divide the conservatives and turn them against each other.
Guess we can choose to let the socialists have their wish... or not.
But no one must dare question your patriotism.
LOL. Good one.
The final result of this migratory rectitis is that it gives one a shi--y outlook on practically everything.
So be kind to some Minnesotans by just ignoring them. Eventually the disease, or the one infected will go away.
Somehow one can just envision that crusty, flabby old paleosocialist waddling through the senate for all these years accomplishing nothing good for this nation. In fact, he has done as much as he can to denegrate his country and is truly, like many of his colleagues, a disgrace.
Oh please, God, why does there have to be so many of them?
They manifestly do...so long as they can keep them duped, anyways. The ones that they can't, they scorn and urge to leave...as right here on this thread we see Jonnie spewing his hate for conservatives, "don't let the screen door hit you on the way out." They pressured Pat Buchanan to leave...who foolishly did leave, and tried mighty hard to get Alan Keyes to leave, who didn't. Etc.
Using false pretenses, they snuck into the Republican party and took it over. Well, now they have it.
It ain't over til' its over. I would say they have the White House, and about 11-12 GOP Senate seats. I would be surprised if more than 50 GOP house members are seriously RINO. But in both houses, those are significant numbers, that when they behave as a covert bloc, can decisively impact leadership selection when there are split fields. The conservatives need to coalesce outside of the bodies, and get unified...putting forth solid leadership candidates for House Speaker, and Senate Majority Leader. Recover the leadership positions, and start cleaning house in the Chairmanships, and the conservatives can still recover governance. The Congress has to get its own house in order...quelling the ideological subversion and corruption...then it can confront...and put down... the Rogue Presidency.
The President should be told in no uncertain terms that his Leftist and Globalist agenda is finished.
It occurs to me that Congress is, in potential, still the most powerful branch of government. The power of the purse needs to be exercised by conservatives. Start defunding the Left. No more PBS funding. No more NPR. No more National Arts Endowment. No more funding for GLobalism. No more OPIC funding. No more World Bank subsidy. No more funding for the State Dept. funding of the Law of the Sea Treaty, or CAFTA, NAFTA, or FTAA. No funding, no acts. They will just expire.
So the Dems originally passed medicare and 40 years later the Pub controlled Congress and Pres pass Medicare D. Seems that the GOP has just become a copycat.
There are not enough real conservatives to accomplish this admirable agenda. Another 20% increase in real conservatives could do it in the House and Senate. (I do not agree with you on the need to abolish Free trade however)
For ex.,Ted Stevens Republican in Alaska for years defended public broadcsting (CBB) in his committee.
"John McCain had to be dragged kicking and screaming to vote to repeal the tax."
I have a hard time beleiving John McCain is a conservative at all, let alone a Neo/Paleo.
I see only CINO.
Regards,
Snot
Ted Stevens has been a thorn in the side of conservative fiscal policy and limited government since day one.
Actually, I'm won't be leaving the Republican Party, it will be leaving me. If they miss me, I can still be found in the same place, politically speaking.
So what's YOUR point?
A hint: compare your line with my line.
Second hint: why Ronald Reagan was supporting Saddam Hussein?
A bonus question: why suspect terrorist are "rendered" to Syria if Syria were to be pro-terrorist state?
