BAGHDAD, Iraq -- An Iraqi man who was one of the first people on the scene of the U.S. airstrike targeting Abu Musab al-Zarqawi said he saw American troops beating a man who had a beard like the al-Qaida leader.
The witness, who lives near the house where al-Zarqawi spent his last days, said he saw the man lying on the ground near an irrigation canal. He was badly wounded but still alive, the man told Associated Press Television News.
U.S. troops arriving on the scene wrapped the man's head in an Arab robe and began beating him, said the local man, who refused to give his name or show his face to the camera. His account could not be independently verified.

They are well aware that with a willing media to act as accomplice and publicize their claims, (while conversely, intentionally avoiding any in depth exposure of the acts terrorism and barbarity against us and Iraqi civilians) they hope to have a same kind of affect which resulted in our being forced to withdraw from Nam.

Even if it is true (which I doubt), remember that Zark wore a bomb belt. Had he any life, he would have tried to activate it. Per some reports, he actually tried, but Iraqi police kept him from setting it off.
Had he managed to, however, he could have killed several Iraqi police and US Military.

Another report says that medics attempted to save him- but he died in the midst of that effort. IF this so-called witness is even telling the truth- he could easily have mistaken an attempt to save for an attempt to kill.
In any event- he's still dead. Alah Akbar.
I believe the terrorists think they have the West pegged: we are frightened by beheadings. We have PC codes that rebound against us and so can be manipulated. Suicide bombers cannot be defeated because we have a culture of life and they have a culture of death that glorifies anyone dying for Islam.
FWIW, all the initial reports were that he was on a gurney and the medics were preparing to give medical assistance. Perhaps the back of his head or the side we don't see in the pics from before they cleaned him up was open. Perhaps they wrapped something around that wound. I am unsure of CPR just because we haven't seen any whole body shots and there is no way to tell the condition of his chest.
This will turn out just like the reports of a child killed: bogus. The child's presence has not been verified, either. I heard one report by an officer saying there was no child. But even if there was: these people keep children and women with them in dangerous conditions, as hostages and as servants/slaves.
I don't think those who oppose democracy in Iraq can understand how we operate. They would beat a wounded soldier, dismember him and hang the mutilated corpse from a bridge, so why wouldn't we?
I wonder if these lies will help make the terrorists more afraid of us? I hope so. I think they see our rendering of medical aid as a weakness. Better that they should have to fear pain and torture rather than the so-called martyr's death.

The clip of the beating I saw on CNN clearly showed that he was beaten with a foot long ham sandwich from Subway. The soldier giving out the beating was identified as a former fat guy named Jarid.

I believe women and children were killed, but not by our soldiers. The terrorists use them as shields and when they are hit, they claim atrocities against our soldiers. Take pictures and send them to our media, who are duplicitous enough to run them. Without verifying the story first.
