The same sort of smear seems to be happening in Qana, with the IDF.

As agitprop goes, even without the collaboration of useful idiots, turncoats, and terrorist sympathizers, the technique is effective in that:

It calls our troops' morality to question.

It causes morale problems within the ranks and among supporters of the WOT, wherever the action is alleged to have taken place, and in the world in general.

It gives opportunity for traitors to sympathize with the enemy and call the actions of our political leadership into question, something done for the brazen desire to sieze political power.

It is gradually being exposed that our enemies, from Hizbollah to Al-Qaida, to the rest of the radical Islamic world, are not beyond staging these 'incidents', either for lucre or (especially) political gain.

They are using this agitprop, especially when abetted by our own media, as a recuiting tool, thus whomever makes statements such as those of Con. Murtha is decidedly aiding and abetting our enemies in a time of war.

Additionally, the UN is in there calling for the enemies of jihad to stand down due to these allegations.

It is sad that those in the DBM will so thoroughly and rapaciously smear our troops when the enemy gleefully tortures and beheads those on our side, and with equal enthusiasm mutilates their corpses and parades them in the streets--all on video for mass consumption.

The consideration of that fact alone should bring even the LLL3s to the conclusion that permitting the enemy to win is not an option.
