WASHINGTON — Rep. John Murtha, a 16-term Democrat known for his close ties to the military and his outspoken opposition to the war in Iraq, said Friday he will run for House majority leader if Democrats win control in November. Murtha, 73, wrote in a letter to Democratic colleagues that he would seek the post "if we prevail, as I hope and know we will, and return to the majority this next Congress." "I would appreciate your consideration and vote and look forward to speaking to you personally about my decision," he wrote. Murtha, regarded as a close ally of Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, has taken his party's lead in demanding an early withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. He served in Vietnam as a Marine and he has a reputation in Congress as a strong friend of the military.

In fact, that raghead is burning in hell and the military despises Murtha. I wonder if he still visits Walter Reed and Bethesda like he used to? It must make for great conversation:

The only thing missing when his lips move is Edgar Bergen by his side.
So the House would be run by Pelosi, Murtha, Rangel and Conyers.

If Ken Melhman uses pictures of these four to show the future House leadership with the Dims in charge the Republicans will gain seats in November.

I wonder if Murtha knows he has to win himself in November to be around. Or is he already looking for another job? Does he know that he has to be a member of the House of Representatives to take over Nancy Pelosi's job? Will the people of the great State of Pennsylvania re-elect someone who has soiled his pants so publicly? They are not stupid you know. They support the men and women of our armed forces unlike Murtha who has clearly become addlebrained.
Murtha demonstrated his mealymouth when he came down to Virginia and held a joint news conference with Rep. Jim Moran. They were called on their lies by a former soldier who served in Iraq and gave eyewitness testimony. Both Jim and John were momentarily silenced and unable to answer the simple question of a genuine American hero soldier!

I can't think of few better campaign ads then one informing the voter a vote for your dem senator will elect this man to lead the senate.

Murtha is in a tough reelection race. He is trying to inflate his own importance within the party to assist his reelection efforts.

The only thing worse than a mean man is a mean old man. This mean old sorry excuse for a congressman has completely lost touch with reality. I doubt if even enough democrats are crazy enough to elect him to a leadership position, but they might, look at who they made the DNC chairman.
The dems are the gift that just keeps on giving.
