Black Caucus Shows Ugly Face of Race in Jefferson Affair
BayouBuzz.com ^ | June 8, 2006 | Steve Sabludowsky

New Orleans--Many believed it would be only a matter of time that race would be wedging the Congress William “Bill” Jefferson affair.

The caucus chairman, Rep. Melvin Watt of North Carolina, told reporters that some black voters might ask why action was sought against "a black member of Congress" when there was neither precedent nor rule for it.

Meaning?

Reverse Racism. Just like in the O.J. Simpson case and the many affairs preceding and following.

Give us a break.

The absolute worse thing in the world is for Congressman Jefferson or anyone in his place to be playing the race card in trying to save his position in Congress or even his liberty.

But, that is what Watt is doing.

The Congressional Black Caucus has opposed the Democratic leadership’s attempt to strip Rep. Jefferson from his position as member of the Ways and Means Committee.

The Democratic leadership should have gone beyond that and forced his ouster from the House, period. . . .

BayouBuzz.com is NOT a conservative publication; with the exception of editorial commentator Jeff Crouere they tend "moderate-to-liberal," which I believe raises a few interesting questions here.

Am I the only noticing how badly the Democrats, excepting the Congressional Black Caucus of course, want Jefferson out of the picture for the November mid-term elections? Is it in our interest to have him resign and remove this issue from the full view of the American people so quickly? And most importantly, why hasn't the pressure exerted by the Congressional Black Caucus been reported more prominently in the mainstream media? (No need to answer the last question, of course.)

I love it, the Republicans are looking like they want to give Jefferson a fair shake, and its the Rats who want him out of the picture! It must send minds reeling down in the 'hood.

The CBC is such a filthy bunch of racist opportunists -- playing on the twisted PC crap that smothers Washington and this nation. I feel sorry for decent black folks. If I were one, I would be embarrassed, having these losers, along with the likes of the NAACP, JJ, bums like Sharpton, supposedly representing me.

Not a chance.

It's not so much the ugly face of race that I find so interesting as it is the Culture of Corruption among the Democrats. They can't even agree that a crook who accepted a bribe should be punished.

I think it's time to drop the "reverse" part of "reverse racism."

Actually that is the issue of the CBC. They use the example of Mullohand(sp) from WV who is also under investigation. He hasn't been ask to resign from the same committe that Mullohand and Jefferson sit. They want equal treatment. If Jefferson resigns, so should Mulholland.

I think they have a point. The black congressman must resign but the white one doesnt (except the Mulholland did quit his post on the House Ethics committee, you can't make this stuff up.)

It's fun watching the leftist plantation masters tiptoe through the racist minefield.

It does take away their "culture of corruption" theme. Too bad the cbc constituents are most likely as stupid as the ones who re-elected nagin, mckinney, and the coke freak from D.C.. It tends to make a case for stereotyping.

The democrats don't want him "out of the picture", they're calling for Jefferson to step down from his post in the Ways & Means Committee temporarily. It boggles the mind why the Republicans are going soft on Jefferson, in light of all the evidence.

If it had been a black Republican, we'd never heare the end of it from the Democrat party and their willing accomplices in the drive-by media.

A CWC would not be "allowed". Drilling in ANWR is not "allowed". New refinery construction is not "allowed". Mass deportion of illegals is not "allowed"

I, for one, am sick and tired of Liberals telling me what is allowed. If they don't back off this crap, they deserve no peace until they crawl back under their rocks from which they slithered.

Best thing to do is call them what they are. We are so caught up in PC garbage(so is Rush and crowd) that they will not call it what it is in fear of losing their shows.

Just to rehash:

Conservative = Conservative
Republican = Democrat
Democrat = Liberal
Liberal = Marxist

These are the new political parties with the Republicrat being the tie breaker in elections.

I have a question of my own. Has Cynthia McKinney been arrested and jailed yet? Methinks that Cindy is the "Afro-American" that Patches "No Headlights" Kennedy wants to be treated like when he steps up to answer for his law breaking ways.

With regard to Ice Jefferson, I simply don't understand some people. Didn't you hear him say that there is an HONORABLE explanation for that 90K in cold hard cash? It probably has something to do with the Nigerian deal, and I can tell you, it takes awhile when dealing with the Nigerians. Just as soon as Dr. Tookie NuNumbskull returns from the Mir space station, I am going to be a very wealthy woman.:)

This is the most recent information I can find on Cynthia McKinney's status, dated June 7.

You can pop it up at:

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/9332813/detail.html

Full Story:

"Report: McKinney Deal Being Worked Out

POSTED: 6:23 am EDT June 7, 2006

WASHINGTON -- There could be a resolution in the case against congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, who's accused of striking a Capitol Hill police officer.

According to our Washington bureau and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution federal prosecutors have been privately talking with McKinney's office, hoping to resolve the case without a trial.

The grand jury has not decided if McKinney should be charged and a decision is at least a week away.

McKinney's office says they aren't negotiating because the congresswoman may never be charged.
