Congress eliminates aid to Saudi Arabia Associated Press, THE JERUSALEM POST Jun. 9, 2006
The House of Representatives voted Friday to forbid US aid to Saudi Arabia, a statement of far more symbolic importance than economic.
The 312-97 vote was to eliminate $420,000 from the $21.3 billion Foreign Operations Appropriations bill. The money has financed $20,000 in military training and education and a $400,000 anti-terrorism program.
President George W. Bush considers Saudi Arabia a vital ally in his campaign against terror, which he began after the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. The Bush administration has praised the Saudis for cracking down on terror operations within their borders but has complained about women's rights and other aspects of Saudi domestic policies.
For its part, Saudi Arabia has wanted a more active US role in mediating the Arab-Israeli problem. Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal complained about the Bush administration's decision to shut off direct aid to the elected Hamas-led Palestinian government.
Spokesmen for the Saudi Embassy and the White House did not immediately return telephone requests for comment.
"American taxpayer dollars should not be supporting Saudi hate and terror," Rep. Anthony Weiner, a New York Democrat who sponsored the amendment, said in a statement. "The Saudis have not cooperated with American investigations, they continue to provide financial support to terrorists, and they continue to nurture fanatical Wahhabism."
Wahhabism is the fundamentalist branch of Islam followed by Saudi Muslims. Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaida mastermind whose Saudi nationality has been revoked because of his terrorist activities, advocates a particularly austere version of Wahhabism.
In his statement, Weiner said the Saudis have violated assurances that they would stop financing terror organizations that have attacked the United States and Israel.
He said Saudi schools "continue to cultivate hate and intolerance despite claims of a `modernized' education system."
And who are the 97 who voted to continue aid to Saudi Arabia?
At 72 dollars a barrel they should be sending us aid.

90% probability, IMHO, the "aid" was "for" Saudi Arabia but "to" an American corp, eg. Wackenhut. A lot of foreign aid is essentially domestic pork.

You are right -- but our great State Department has for a long time, BOUGHT "support" from the Saudis, even though they don't need the money. They have gladly taken every taxpayer dollar stolen for them.
Pandering to the Saudis has been a way of life in Washington, again at the behest of the State Department. IMHO, not one single Islamic country should get a single tax payer dollar. Islam is our enemy, and wasting taxpayer dollars (a profession in Washington) has gotten America nothing really.

Why are we spending 21 billion dollars on foreign aid at all when we have a massive national debt that we need to pay off? How do we ever expect to pay off $8,375,109,838,212? Especially the way the current financial system works. From my understanding (please correct me if I'm wrong and you are more knowlegable in this area) instead of the government issuing money itself like its supposed to, it asks for loans from the Federal Reserve bank. That means everytime money is issued, the government is not issuing the money, it is really asking the Fed Reserve Bank to loan money to it on interest. When the Fed Govt wants to pay the loan back it asks for another loan to pay the money back (also on interest). (It is kind of like using a credit card to pay a credit card bill). The net result is that we can never pay back the national debt, and the amount we owe in interest keeps increasing because we keep paying for it based on loans.

Practically every one of these worthless State Department Communists should be fired. McCarthy was talking about Communists in the State Department in the 50s. He was laughed at and spurned by the country. however, as Ann Coulter pointed out in her 2005 book Treason, McCarthy was right. Now, 50 years after McCarthy, it's not so much a question of there being individual Communists in the state Department---the whole State Department is communist.

I can't go along with this. Taxpayer dollars are a tool of US diplomacy. Even though it's a messy business, we have to cultivate some countries within the Islamic realm. That is too big a swath of territory not to try to gain leverage in. It covers North Africa and the Middle East.
Now that the House has got the guts to do this, maybe they can refuse money to the UN and send them packing to a more friendly venue. We sure don't need them living off perks from the USA.

I cannot speak for the whole State Department, but our government is filthy with them -- and you really don't have to go any further than the floor of the Congress. Makes me sick to think our good military in Iraq fighting for "FREEDOM" when we have pinkos in our own government trying to take down our freedom !!!

Well, I'll speak frankly with you. Back in the 1960s, the Russians started penetrating the Democratic Party by inventing the New Left, which John Kerry and Hillary Rodham were both members of. Now, 40 years later, the Democratic Party is under the complete control of the Russians. It doesn't matter that the Russians are not communist anymore---the vast majority of people in organizations they control never knew there was a connection to the Russians anyway. I'm not saying the control is complete but the influence is very powerful.
Consider Europe where the situation is more advanced. Schroeder was Chancellor of Germany for how long, more than 10 years right? He goes from that job directly to what---been an executive in Gazprom!!! Do you believe that? No subtlety at all. The guy was a Russian agent, so now he goes to his payoff. I should search the web after posting this, but so far, just reading the usual news sources, I have yet to discover a single person anywhere on the planet who is disturbed about this.
Anyway, so far the Russians (or think about it anyway you like, the Left, it is quite obvious) has taken over the State Department, most of our university system, a very large part of our entire K-12 system (including the teachers unions), the Democratic Party, and the mainstream media.
Their greatest talent is subversion, so where do they go from here? Answer: the Republican Party! Think about it. how many strong barriers are there remaining in the world to the, let us say, loose alliance between the Left and Islamacists? Some resistance in Britain, in Australia, in Poland. India was looking good for a while, then they had an election and things seem to be going sour. The point is all of these groups, while well appreciated, are not strong enough to stand up against the Left in the Islamacists. Essentially, it is the Republican Party and the Christian Fundamentalists in United States who are the last major bulwark of freedom. I'm Jewish myself, so I have no insight into what is going on in Christian fundamentalist churches, but I would be quite surprised if there was no infiltration happening. It is going on in the Republican Party.
Our enemy is now essentially, the KGB, that rules Russia. From an article in the Wall Street Journal, page 1, Wednesday, February 23, 2005:

The greatest talent of this organization is subversion. I believe the Russian KGB (aided by the GRU) is the most effective subversive force the world has ever seen. This is how they have achieved so much in Europe and this is their primary attack on the United States.
Essentially, it is the Republican Party and the Christian Fundamentalists in United States who are the last major bulwark of freedom.

Great post, and it is difficult to find any obvious fault in it, from any perspective. All that being said, it is scary and sickening to realize how little is left in America that stands for America as the country it was intended to be. I don't think we will ever see another conservative (REAL conservative) President, and worse than that, look at what the Congress has degenerated into. A teaming swamp of anti-Americanism, anti-militarism, socialistic, political attack-dogs that are spending all their time fighting for position in the socialist pecking order, and not at all running and preserving America, as if they cared about it.
And they just march forward, blatantly in front of a voting public that is paralyzed with ignorance, apathy, complacency and just outright stupidity, as if nothing was happening to their country. All one has to do, to become fully educated, is read that latest piece of total crap legislation that the Senate put out on illegal immigration. We are on the brink.
