Admittedly, it was insignificant, but, we were sending aid to Saudi Arabia? Really? And it's just being ended, maybe, now?

And who are the 97 who voted to continue aid to Saudi Arabia?

90% probability, IMHO, the "aid" was "for" Saudi Arabia but "to" an American corp, eg. Wackenhut. A lot of foreign aid is essentially domestic pork.

President George W. Bush considers Saudi Arabia a vital ally in his campaign against terror

Vital ally or not (and I vote "not"), there's no conceivable reason the US should be sending aid money to Saudi Arabia. The money would be better spent investigating the Muslim schools that the Saudis finance in the US.

That is exactly what I was thinking - What the heck does Saudi Arabia need OUR "aid" for anyway? They can afford anything and everything they may want or need....

As much as I detest Algae, he did have an admirable goal. The elimination of opec oil dependence! Well the lord of the internet didn't quite phrase it that way, but that is about the only decent thing ever suggested by the manberpig killer excelsior!

I am sure the aid to Saudi Arabia can be traced back to the Clinton years.

Now that the House has got the guts to do this, maybe they can refuse money to the UN and send them packing to a more friendly venue. We sure don't need them living off perks from the USA.

80 of the 97 were Republicans: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2006/roll244.xml
